Clean eating challenge - Dinner
Post a picture of your dinner tonight. Hope the rest of the day is going well for everyone. The biggest challenge for me so far was avoiding free pizza at work. It smelled so good.

For some reason, the Nest picture feature doesn't work on my computer.
I'm making grilled shrimp kebobs with a sriracha marinade (a little bit of sriracha, a little bit of honey--both of which I'm considering clean but using in moderation--low sodium soy, safflower oil, cumin, cinnamon), grilled corn on the cob and spinach salad.
I actually started yesterday, so this was my dinner last night:
quinoa with tomatoes, avocado, lime, cilantro and a little bit of salt
and I also had a salad with strawberries, feta cheese (what's the deal with cheese? is feta ok?) and a spinach and field greens mix
and tonight I had some leftover quinoa from last night (I added some red peppers) and I also made veggie kebabs with red pepper, onion, tomato and mushrooms and a spray of balsamic vinegar

I don't have a picture, but my dinner is going to be romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, some gorgonzola cheese, balsamic vinegar, and a sweet potato. I might also have some 2% plain greek yogurt with strawberries later.
Unfortunately my lunch wasn't really clean, since my boss took my group out to lunch and I wasn't successful in avoiding all of the appetizers. I think my salad was mostly clean though.
Mmm, looks yummy! My take on cheese is that as long as it doesn't have weird additives or is super processed ("American cheese"), it's clean enough for me. There is no hard definition for clean eating (everyone seems to have their own), but I think as long as you eat cheese in relatively small quantities to avoid high sodium and fat intake, it's pretty clean.
ok, thanks! I don't eat much cheese, generally just a little feta or blue cheese in salads. Glad I don't have to give that up!

We had butternut squash soup topped with leftover roasted chicken and walnuts. Grapefruit for dessert. Frozen squash was not as good as roasting a fresh one for soup but it was passable for a weeknight.
