Vow renewal (Destination?)

Hi All! I'm from N. New Jersey and just starting the planning process for a vow renewal for next year, our 5th anniversary.  We are torn between the idea of having something locally (maybe casual jersey shore ceremony on the beach) with a few family and friends OR going to a destination for a private ceremony and vow renewal-moon (is that a 'thing'? LOL)

 

Has anyone ever had a destination wedding or destination vow renewal?  Where did you have it and would you reccomend any place?

    Had our destination wedding at The Westin on St. John, USVI.  Absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny spent!! We will be going back in 2 years for our 10 year vow renewal.

    Eighth Anniversary 5000 Comments Combo Breaker
    We haven't done it yet but have discussed having a renewal ceremony on the beach in Tulum, Mexico, because we love it there. We've also discussed doing it in Hawaii, because I've never been and it would be a "big" trip for us. But I am holding out hope for a 10 year renewal in French Polynesia (only 4 more years to go!!)

    Eighth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    We got married at Royal Davui in Fiji.  It's one of the most unique, intimate places I've ever been.  Highly recommended!

    Second Anniversary
    We're getting married in August on Wilson Island in Australia! We looked at various places for our destination wedding including Turks and Caicos, Italy, Fiji, Palau, and Malaysia. If you want to stay at the Jersey Shore, I grew up in Brigantine. No big hotels, no boardwalk, and gorgeous sand! There is also Cape May, Stone Harbor, or Avalon.

    Third Anniversary

    We had a destination wedding in Las Vegas, and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. The ceremony was very beautiful--there are plenty of NON-kitchy chapel options available--and the trip afterward was an absolute blast. Best.trip.ever! We hope to renew our vows there someday--maybe for our 10th anniversary.

    My husband and I are planning our vow renewal for 2016. We plan to have it somewhere in the Caribbean. I'm excited for you guys and hope everything turns our perfectly.
