magnetic nail polish

Has anyone tried this yet?  I have it on right now (fingerpaints and china glaze both make a version).  I was hoping if you have tried it to give out some tips.  I get mixed results, some fingers I like, others I have to re-do multiple times.  I really like the shine that comes from it though.

Re: magnetic nail polish

  • I use the Nails Inc ones.  Make sure the magnet stays polish free for the whole mani.  If it gets polish on it, it won't make the effects on the nail.  Also, do one nail at a time and then move on to the next.  The polishes dry so quickly that it can't be done at the end.  I would do the polish, move to the next nail, and go back to the previous nail with top coat to keep from messing them up since I use a fast drying one.  Also, do only one heavy coat per nail.  That's the only way it works.
  • Here are my posts on magnentic polishes, and a link to one blogger who did an in depth review of all the magnetic polishes at the time and her tips and tricks. I have personally had the best results by using a black base layer and a thinner coat of magnetic polish to really show off the design.  I find it helps reduce chipping as well.  HTH's!

  • I played with some from Nails inc at sephora. In my 30 minutes there I determined I was not patient enough to use the product. It looks so cool in pictures but I wasn't impressed in person.
