What hotel in Boston the night before a cruise?

H and I are taking a cruise out of Boston on May 19, but are flying in the day before. I was going to try to bid on a hotel on Priceline, but didn't know what area to select. Out of these areas what would be the closest to seeing some sights and then getting a bus to the cruise terminal? Beacon Hill, Boston Common (theater district), Harbor Front/Aquarium, Waterfront/Convention, Quincy Market/Financial, and Revere/Logan (is this to far out?). We were planning on using the bus system to get around. Is it fairly good or is there better way to get around besides renting a car?

Ditto this. You could probably walk from the Waterfront/Convention area and maybe see the boat from your hotel window. There's less directly in that area for really touristy things but you can walk to South Station or take a short taxi ride. Boston is pretty small and walkable so you can't go wrong-- but Back Bay and Boston Common area is my favorite area to stay in
My thought is back bay/copley square. I stayed at the Lenox about 10 years ago and loved it. Got a great last minute deal. The place is historical and filled with antiques which I like. Esay transportation options in Boston.
There is a fabulous Westin right at the waterfront near the convention center. You could walk to the docks for the cruise. It is all re-done and cheaper than the Westin at Copley. We stay there often.
