No more lurking for me!

I've been lurking here for a while and decided to join in!  I frequently have questions and would love to talk to others.

A little about me!  I started my journey last May and I gave myself a year to reach my goal. Like so many people, I wanted to lose weight FAST, but in my mind I knew that was probably not going to happen and I would become discouraged. I figured that I wanted to lose about 50lbs and that meant I needed to lose 5-7 lbs a month. This goal was far more obtainable than losing 20 lbs in two weeks. Another goal I had was to run a 5K. It has been a year and I have met both of those goals!  I am so proud of what I have achieved, even though it has been difficult sometimes! I never thought that my body could do what it has done to lose the weight and get back in shape. 

Thanks for the encouragement!  Just seeing how a lot of you run 10k's,HM, marathons and participate in Triatholons has inspired me to push myself and also to try things that I have always thought I would hate. Good luck to all of you!
