Starting to freak out about this weekend's weather

The weather forecast for this weekend's Flying Pig marathon seems to be changing by the hour.  Yesterday, the forecast was a high of 88 degrees and no rain.  Today, it's 82 degrees and 30% chance of isolated T-storms.

Ugh!

Thankfully the race starts early with a 6:30am start, but it'll still be warm for the finish.  Heat is the one weather condition I can't do well in!  Watching people struggle through Boston in the heat is not helping my calm down at all.

Anyone else not looking forward to this weekend's weather forecast?

Re: Starting to freak out about this weekend's weather

  • I'm right there with you! I'm also running the Pig and I've been obsessing. The full forecast is 64* at start time climbing to 67* by 10:30. It's the 94% humidity that's scaring me! SO not excited, it's shaping up to be a repeat of last year, but with sun instead of rain. That doesn't make me happy.

  • I'm concerned and I only have to run a half.  I couldn't imagine running a marathon.  Good luck you, guys.  I'm doing my first half in Columbus this Saturday and I just hope the weather behaves (for both days!).

  • I am starting to freak out about this weekend's weather too.  My first half is Sunday in Pittsburgh and they have about the same forecast.  Please let the weatherman be wrong!
  • Another freaker here. The forecast for Ft. Collins CO (for my third marathon) has gone from 80* and sunny to 71* and rainy, to now 68* and partly cloudy. Getting better, but changing so much it's driving me nuts! I just need to know how to dress and mentally prepare, is that too much to ask? ;)

I'm doing this one too, and I've been doing the whole avoid-the-weather-report thing so I don't freak myself out.

    Good luck to you!

  • Good luck, everyone!!

The forecast just keeps getting worse.  LOL  90% humidity!  Ugh.
