I saw the Avengers last night

It was like head-spinny awesome. The final fight scene is spectacular.

Plus, it MIGHT have pushed me from Team Liam to Team Chris in the Battle of the Hemsworths. Oh my god, those arms.

Re: I saw the Avengers last night

  • I really want to see this movie.  I haven't seen Thor or the second Iron Man -- will that hamper my enjoyment?  Do I need to watch those first?

  • this review pleases me. Greatly.

  • YAY! I just saw the thor movie 2 weeks ago to prepare for this since it was the last I had to watch (it btw was meh, but way better than Captain America which was pretty horrible)

I'll be watching it this weekend, glad to hear a good review!

  • Oh yeah....I also haven't seen Captain America.  I need to watch all these movies.

  • I'm so fuccking excited for this.

Also, I'm concerned I'm going to be the lone Team Liam member and you're all going to gang up on me and give me wedgies.

  • No you don't need any backstory, you're safe.

Hearing RDJ deliver Whedon dialogue as Tony Stark, well.... If someone said it was the greatest thing ever, I couldn't argue.

My only disappointment was that I was hoping for someone to say "Big god damn heroes" as a little Easter egg, but that didn't happen. There was a "suit up" though, and in my mind, that was an NPH shout out.

  • My brother somehow saw this 2 weeks ago and now won't shut up about it.

Meanwhile, I'm becoming more and more convinced I should set the 2 of you up.

  • There is a theatre here that's playing all the previous movies in a row leading up to the midnight showing. If it wouldn't mean taking time off work, I'd totally want to go sit through that.

I may need to watch this movie alone. In my bedroom.

The only reason I saw both Ironman movies was because of RDJ.  Its probably the main reason I'll eventually see Avengers too.  I'd watch him read the phone book.

The proper response is "I'll be in my bunk," but it's OK, you're not a die-hard fangirl.

    Only for NKOTB.

  • Looking forward to this one.  Chris is very hot.  Wasn't impressed until I heard him speak.

Hey girl, glad you came to the right team.

  • I think this is probably an unfair judgment considering C-Hems was forced to get as beefy as possible for his role and they probably told LiLi to starve himself. You can't get too buff in District 12. There's not much protein around.

  • Wasn't Liam originally going to be cast as Thor but Chris stole it away from him somehow?

I'm going to need Chris to cut his hair so I can make a fair judgement on the two.

    children and work ruin everything.

  • RDJ! Swoon.

Liam is attractive, but too young and has a high-maintenance girlfriend. Chris's wife doesn't look quite as high-maintenance.

I'm not into superhero movies but agreed to see it with H as part of our anniversary night out next weekend. Now he is insisting that I watch all the movies leading up to it. I have seen Captain America and the orignal Ironman.  I told him not to push it.

  • This is the best, most fun movie I've seen in ages.

Cali--you definitely won't be lost without seeing the others but I think it adds some context, especially since three characters, including the villain, are from Thor.  I haven't seem Capt. America and now I want too.

  • My Fi sat through the movie, didn't say a word, and at the end said, "That was f***ing awesome. The only way it could have been better would be if Blade was in it."

On reflection, I think he's right- though there was so much eye candy in that movie that my fangirl side and my geeky side were both going, "squee!!!!"

  • I loved it.  I could definitely feel that is was a Joss movie and laughed and squeed so many times at his genius lines.  Love him.

I really need to watch Buffy.

You may need to see Thor to understand why Loki is the villain and their relationship and everything, but other than that, you should be good.

    On a side note--

Thor: I care not what you say. Loki may be unreasonable, but he's still my brother.

Black Widow: He killed 88 people in 2 days.

    Thor: ......He's adopted?

     Loved this movie, lol.
