My grocery store has a great prepared foods department. With the exception of the chinese food, I usually skip it as too expensive - I could make it cheaper.
Well, I recently discovered they have a refrigerated case by the express checkouts of stuff that has the sell-by-date of that day and it's all super discounted. Like, last week I got a pound of penne with vodka sauce for $2. This week I got a pound of sausage and peppers for $3 and a a pound and a half of chicken cacciatore for $3.50.
I couldn't even get the ingredients for that cheap! And it's all good.
I've been trying to limit to to once a week, but I think this is going to be our new meal plan. Slippery slope!
Re: Wednesday Randoms
Kate-that sounds delicious! I'm in the boat of what ever is easiest!
I worked out...like hard core worked out last night-MMA kickboxing. It was my first time since I GOT pregnant that I worked out like that. So almost 2 years. It was embarrassing, and I dread climbing the stairs, but I'm going back tomorrow.
My legs hurt.
That's awesome! I wouldn't be passing up things like that either. Plus, you could probably even freeze it and save it for later too with things like pasta.
Kate, I would be all over that discounted food. That is seriously cheap!
Grades are due today and are scheduled to be posted by 9am tomorrow on our official record. Even though I know this, I have been checking at least once every hour to see if they posted early. I feel like I need to see the final grade before I can relax and enjoy my break.
Also, the school messed up my financial aid and I am probably going to have to pay out of pocket for my summer classes. Thank God we actually had a healthy emergency fund or I would be really really far up the creek. As it is, we will be learning to love ramen again.

Long story short, our washer that is 2 years old has been deemed a "lemon" after an obscene amount of repeat repairs, and I had to go after whirlpool via the bbb to get them to even respond. We were promised a new washer at a discount rate (read, I still had to pay for it) and we had to get rid of ours-which we did right before moving. Our new one was supposed to be delivered on Saturday....they are now saying it will be there on 5/15 and are refusing to return calls. I'm now dealing with the store we bought the washer from and the bbb only. And we still have no washer, that we paid for.
S locked himself out of the townhouse rental yesterday. Hello $300 emergency locksmith fee. Sadly, it's not 100% his fault and he got to have a "discussion" with our landlord who rekeyed the code pad after he left and forgot to tell sean. Yesterday was the first day of the rental.
Today is a head-desk kind of day.
I absolutely hate the program I use for work as do all of of my coworkers. Our work vanishes fairly often. I got into work today and opened everything up only to find that all of the work I did yesterday was completely gone. Yesterday happened to be a day that I worked 6:30 to 5. I was trying to get this company done so I can take off on Friday because Rusty's grandma is having surgery. I'm so completely pissed.
I try to brush it aside and get to work. I'm plugging along and about an hour after I get going the program crashes and I lose everything that I have done this morning. I was seconds away from walking out. I'm so frustrated.
I just discovered this:
It looks/sounds delicious, and I'm down for having 85% less fat. I LOVE peanut butter, but can't have as much because of my diet. I ordered it!

I've had the regular PB2, it's okay, I wasn't a huge fan. The consistency when you mix it with water or even oil isn't the same as real PB, and I'm a huge texture person. The only time I enjoyed it was in a smoothie. Just my own opinion.
Yeah, I was mostly thinking about smoothies anyway-just to get my "healthier" peanut buttery goodness fix
