I should just go home now.

The girl that sits at the front desk is going home because she is pregnant and hacking up a damn lung. Thank goodness she is going home because I'm pretty sure I would've gone crazy if she had stayed and I had to listen to that all day.

So currently there are two of us that are here to help cover the front desk. We have a bell that sits on the desk for customers to ring if they need help and no one is out there. The other lady that is here that is supposed to help cover never ever ever gets up when the bell rings. Even if I'm on the phone (and she can hear that I'm on the phone...she sits about 10 feet away from me) she still won't get up. I usually have to go to the front desk after I get off the phone. I've been telling my supervisor for at least a year that she just needs to flat out tell this person to get off her a$$ when the bell rings no matter what, even if 3 or 4 of us meet in the hallway....I'd rather have 4 of us respond then no one at all. Especially since I pee a lot and the main line rings to me when no one is at the front desk. So when I ask my supervisor today to tell this person that the front desk girl is going home and to get up when the bell rings, she sends out this nice little email saying that we need to let each other know when we are away from our desk or cover if someone is on the phone. Yeah, because that will work as well as it has in the last year or so.

Things will not end well if this other lady doesn't help out today. She about got my foot up her a$$ on Monday when I had to answer the bell after getting off the phone yet again.

I should just go home now shouldn't I?

  • I vote go home. She's a lazy bum and you don't need the stress.

You and Styme should switch jobs for a day! Each of you can take care of each other's difficult person!

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

I may need you to elaborate upon the "take care of" part of that. Are we talking passive aggressive notes or mops and buckets?

I'm thinking I like your initial plan. I'd run over her if I could. Thank goodness she turned in her resignation and her last day is Wednesday. One more week. One more week. One more week.
