First of all, you'd all be so proud. I've been teaching myself how to knit. As an easy first project, I'm making a set of wash clothes for MIL for mother's day (or her birthday at this rate!). Well, I brought it to school with me to knit during my lunch break and my needle snapped in half. It was plastic, but it was what my mom had lying around. I thought we had more that size, but we don't. Tragic, I'll have to go to the craft store.
Secondly, I was trying to finish up THIS top that I had been working on. I have the bodice all done, including the trim (I ditched the ruffle on the bottom). I spent almost the entire weekend trying to get straps to work. They way they suggest falls off the shoulder and if I stitch all the way up that side of the top and attach the straps straight across from front to back, the top part of the sweater is way too tight even though the rest of the body fits fine. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
TIA!
Re: WIP Fail(s) and need a bit of help!
i have no idea how to knit/crochet so maybe this wont work, but could you get a tiny snap and use a piece of thread to go around your bra strap to hold the sleeve up/in place? I have no idea what the technical term for this is, and googling bra/sleeve snap was a bad idea. lol Most of my sleeveless dresses have something similar to keep bra straps out of sight..
