Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Derby Party - Betting
wWich of these ideas do you think we should do for betting for the derby party?
A- Put all horse names in a bucket; people pay a couple bucks per name they draw out; winner gets 70% off money, 2nd-20% and 3rd-10%
Or more complex:
... Have a list of names of horses and people pay $1/pick and they can pick multiples; the money in the pot in split evenly among whoever picked the winning horse (I'd maybe make a big poster to keep track?)
Open to other ideas too. Thanks

Hi! I had to stop and think about this a while...
What I like about option A:
There is a 1st, 2nd and third place winner - with appropriate % pay-outs.
What I like about option B:
It gives your guests a choice of horse which (I'm presumming these are "horse" people who would know the book-makers odds) would help create a natural spread.
The downside of this option is that there is more work for you as a hostess... please let us know what you do!
