If you own a nice watch

By nice, I mean brands like Cartier, Rolex, a nicer Omega or Tag, etc.

If you wear a nice watch, do you wear it every single day, or do you ever switch it out with cheaper/more trendy watches?   I'll see watches that I like, such as the Michael Kors one that is a few posts down, but I never buy them or wear anything else.  It's probably silly, but I feel kind of guilty wearing a $200 trendy watch when I have something so nice laying in my jewelry box.  I wear my Omega Constellation every day.  I feel like it goes with everything, is timeless, and I truly do love it.

Do you wear your nice watch daily, or switch it out with some less expensive and trendy watches?

I have a Cartier tank watch and wear it almost every day.  My sometimes watch is a gold and tortoise shell MK watch.  I have other watches too but ever since I was gifted the Cartier, I reach for it all the time.
  • I have a nice watch that I never wear.  I quit my ft job and work at the restaurant my husband and I own.  I don't even wear my diamond wedding band anymore :(

I have a really nice Tag. For my birthday, I just got a rose gold MK watch. I do not wear either watch daily. I only wear a watch when we go out to dinner, concerts, etc. (and which one I wear depends on my outfit/other jewelry.) I don't wear a watch/things on my wrist to work - I'm often writing on a chalkboard/whiteboard and find things on my wrist to be annoying.

I LOVE the Cartier tank.  I had a hard time deciding what watch to get and that was one of the three contenders.

  • I seriously feel naked if I walk out the door without wearing a watch.  It will bug me all day long and drive me nuts when I keep looking at my naked wrist, lol.
  • I have a really nice Rolex but only wear it about once a week.  I rotate between 3 different Movado watches during the week.  I have a burberry leather signature band watch that I wear when I don't want to be too flashy.

  • I was wondering if we'd get an, "I don't wear any inexpensive watches, but I do alternate between my Cartier, Rolex, and Omega."  Not that there is anything wrong with that!

What kind of Rolex do you have?

  • I have a tag and I wear it every day. I own some cheaper watches, citizen, MK, etc, but I generally don't wear them anymore. I don't know why.

I have an Omega, not a Rolex.  I did want a Rolex Ladies Datejust, because they were the only brand I considered that had the exact combination I wanted - yellow gold and stainless band, some diamonds, and a grey mother of pearl dial.  That combo in a Rolex was way out of my price range, though, so I got an Omega with all of those things, except a white mother of pearl dial.

I would love to have a Chanel J12 and/or gold Rolex, but I can't stomach the cost of either.
  • I have a Tag, and I wear it every day. I work in a hospital and need a watch on. Now I just feel naked without one. If it was a more commonly know brand, like  Rolex, I might not wear it everywhere. It seems very few people know what a Tag is and I've only had a couple comments on it.
  • I wear a classic Timex with an olive khaki band every day (casual office dress code). It's neutral and goes with everything.

I also have a nice Seiko I wear if I have important meetings/have to dress business professional somewhere.

Yeah, I feel like the only people who are familiar with Tag or Omega are those who have looked into buying a nice watch.  It's not like a Rolex or Cartier, which pretty much anyone recognizes as an expensive watch.

  • I have a Longines Dolce Vita with diamonds and wear it every day.  I feel the same as you, that my watch goes with everything, is timeless and I truly love it.

  • I don't have a high end watch (yet), but my mom has a Rolex and has worn it every day for as long as I can remember, except for maybe when she's at the beach. I imagine I would do the same.
  • I have a Raymond Weil watch and two Micheles - a white rubber strap one and the Urban Mini with the plain face.  I usually wear one of my Micheles because I like bigger watches for more causual days.  My Raymond weil has a smaller face so I wear it for more formal occasions.  I am hoping to get a Rolex when I graduate with my docterate.  My dad has one from the 1970's that he wears EVERY SINGLE DAY.
  • I use a laptop for work w/o a docking station, so I stopped wearing a watch several years back.  I have an Ebel Beluga that my parents bought me for some major milestone, I think it was a graduation.  I wear it next to never.

Lurking, but I'll answer! I have a nice Fendi watch that I wear 90% of the time. I have several MK's that I rotate, but as far as every day use, the Fendi is my go to.

My mom has a Rolex and a few Movado's and NEVER wears them. She wears this strange Men's diving watch occasionally (something she got from her job). I know it's expensive, but to me it looks huge on her. She's petite so I think she should wear something dainty, but she likes it. But she doesn't generally wear watches that often.  Random, I know.

  • I wear my Tag aquaracer every day. It was a gift.

  • I wear my Tag Formula 1 90% of the time, it's my one and only watch.  The 10% of the time I don't have it on I'm either in the sun and don't want a tan line or have on a cute bracelet.  I wear my "good" jewelry (engagement ring, wedding band, diamond studs, watch, etc) on a daily basis - every item that has been purchased has been done so for the purpose of wearing it not for it to sit in a jewerly box/safe deposit box - this includes vacations.  My mother has a ton of jewelry that she does not wear and it drives me bonkers - why buy it if you're not going to wear it.

  • I keep dropping hint to DH that I want a Cartier Ballon Bleu. And he keeps pretending that he did not hear the hints!!!

My everyday watch is a Michele which is ok but not high end, if I had a high end watch I would wear it everyday. I think most fashion watches are immitations of higher ends anyways, like the white (ceramic) watch is trying to be Chanel, or the shaped of MKs mimic Rolex, you see them more because they are a lot more affordable and generally women are not watch collector/aficianados so as long as it looks good they will buy it, but don't care how long it lasts or what kind of movement it has.

My sister has an Omega that sounds just like your and she wears hers everyday for the past 10 years.

  • I have an Ebel that I've worn nearly every day for the past 8 years. I love it, and I love how durable it is. I'm amazed how well it has held up. No scratches on the crystal, no water leaks.
  • I have a Tiffany watch.  I wear it 90% of the time, but switch it out with a white Toy Watch or a gold MK watch when those look better with my outfit.
  • My mom wears her Breitling every single day. She went from a $30 Timex to a Breitling!

I have a rose gold MK (that's pretty damn fancy to me), and I wear it every day.  I didn't wear a watch before I got it.

  • I have one watch that is worth about 4K and a tag. I don't wear either of them. Both were given to me by my parents though.

  • I switch off daily between my Movado and Tiffany watches.  Both I'd consider high end (though not quite Rolex level).  My Tiffany is a classic stainless tank, perfect for daily wear.

My sister has a Tiffany watch that is 18K gold with tons of diamonds -- easily a $20K watch and she only wears it on special occasions.

  • I have a bulova that has diamonds that I wear everyday. I love it!  Trying to hint my husband that I want it in gold to wear with some gold stuff I have:) he hasnt gotten the hint yet;)
  • I'm trying to convince my husband to upgrade my MK to a Perrelet Diamond Flower but so far he's not buying it. I'm not sure if I'd wear it everyday. Probably would.

H is the watch man though; his Omega is his work watch. Gucci work weekends. Perrelet for special occasions.
