Dallas/Arlington Food Recommendations

I posted the other day asking for things to do in that area. Now we're starting to think about food.

What are some good places to eat at? Any that we shouldn't miss? We're not very picky eaters and love everything from good old hamburgers to gyros. If you have any good breakfast recommendations too, those would be very appreciated, as we fail at breakfast! Don't want to eat McGriddles the whole time, bleck!

Re: Dallas/Arlington Food Recommendations

  • I have grown up in the Arlington area and have been here since '91!

Mariano's has the BEST Mexican off of 360 and I-30 followed by Campo Verde (very cool atmosphere) also in Arlington (other side of town). Great Prices and delicious Mexican food.

Italian: Saviano's in Euless. Not far of a drive for OUTSTANDING Italian for a great price. The head chef's/owner's son was on Hell's Kitchen (Giacomo) and I think he still may work there. He may have moved to the Fort Worth Sundance Square location though. There is food is really good and VERY fresh.

Breakfast: I usually go to Ihop or Denney's so I'm no help here!

Subs: Dino's subs off of Division in Arlington. Not the best location, but I've been going to this place since I was a kid. Best subs around town!

Chicken: Babe's Chicken!!! Best Fried Chicken ever! You have to try it. It's off of Center St in the middle of Arlington. Very good southern home cooking with the best delicious chicken and mashed potatoes. They have chicken fried chicken and steak too. All you can eat sides. Ok I'm ready to go there now! :)

Hmmm I think that is it. Let me know if you need anything else. You can email me at cara dot williams at siemens dot com if you need anymore insight!

  • In Dallas:

Fuel City Tacos (it's in a gas station but the food is awesome),

Breakfast/Brunch: Breadwinner's, La Duni, Blue Mesa, Cafe Brazil

Lunch: Twisted Root Burger, Chuy's or Gloria's

Dinner: Jasper's in Plano, Bijoux ($$$ French), Hattie's in the Bishop Arts District or Tillman's Roadhouse or Smoke

In Fort Worth: Lonesome Dove Bistro, Joe T. Garcia's

Some of these are local chains. I'm not sure if they have them where you are from.

  • This is where I've been.

I'm with this poster! :) I grew up in Arlington too and would definitely recommend all of these (haven't had babe's myself yet). Live in Euless now and we do love some Saviano's! We do drive to Dino's as often as we can - best subs around! As for breakfast, if you like Mexican breakfast, try Bigotes in Arlingon - hole in the wall with yummy breakfast!
