gift for a runner

My running friend is having her 40th this weekend. We are going out with some of her other friends and all staying at a hotel that night. I am at a loss for gift. She has most of the standard equipment, running belt, bottles, shoes, etc. I am going to go by the running store and see what strikes me, but any ideas? I was thinking maybe a subscription for a running mag, or clean eating mag (she is vegan), maybe a new shirt... idk, wdyt?

Re: gift for a runner

  • Kind of lame but  gift card to the running store would be nice.
  • An IOU for one race fee entry with built-in running buddy, in a little basket with some little running stuff (socks, Gu, headband, etc).

I did this for my sister's MOH gift for our wedding, and we ran RNR Chicago together for her first half.  It was a big hit.  I'm assuming you don't know what races she wants to do, so I'd let her pick and tell her the entry's on you.

  • I like the race entry fee idea!  And a gift card to the running store is always a safe bet.

I like gift cards.  Then I can get whatever I need.

  • I'll agree with a gift card. That way she can get what she wants. You could also pick up some socks and Gu if you know what kind she likes.
  • Also, what about a GC for a sports massage?

  • I am a vegan and get Clean Eating Mag. I'm really not impressed with their vegan recipes. I think a race entry fee is a good idea.

    I love this!!

  • I like the race entry too with a small gift basket or what about getting her new shorts and a shirt. I love new running clothes.
