I've recently lost 60+ pounds but have more to lose. I'm not interested in spending a lot on clothes, because I don't want to be this size for long.
I know I can shop consignment, but in the event that I don't find something else, I'm looking for a nice interview outfit. I'm a teacher, and I'd be applying within the school system. A total black suit and heels is probably over the top, so think about an outfit that wouldn't look out of place in a classroom. Maybe like the very nicest/prettiest/most professional look you can think of that wouldn't scream *I don't dress like this on a daily basis!!*
Any suggestions? For bottoms and maybe dresses, I'm in 14s most places, but with vanity sizing, I'm not always sure what that means. If a collection sized up through 18s, I'm guaranteed to fit in something. I do have a large bust, which can make getting in some tops impossible.
Re: Inexpensive Interview Outfit
While I understand that you don't want to spend money while you're at an in between size, appearances are almost everything for interviews. I would buy a suit - you can get them for under $100 at TJ Maxx. You never have to look like a character out of Men in Black; in fact, I think most women look at best like caricatures and at worst like they're playing dress up if they're wearing a black suit and a white blouse.
If you absolutely do not want to wear a suit, the most casual I would go would be a sheath suiting dress (also at TJ Maxx) with a belted cardigan.

If you're not wearing a suit, I'd consider looking at a wrap dress. They're usually very flattering and you can put a camisole under it to cover up any inappropriate cleavage. Plus, when you lose more weight, you're more likely to be able to still wear it, just cinched tighter.
Congrats on your weight loss, and good luck with the interview!
