Thoughts on cleanses? I've never done one, and do not know if I'm a firm believer, but lately all I've been hearing is people doing all of these different cleanses.
Anyone know a good one?
Re: Cleanse
Cleanses aren't held in high regard on H&F.
I did Clean (Alejandro Junger). I generally don't think the body needs more than lots of water and whole foods to function well, and the only reason I did it was because I suspected I had a food intolerance.
Clean is not very restrictive--just an elimination diet and three weeks of super clean eating. It doesn't require supplements. I still ate 1500 calories a day, and I actually felt pretty awesome. I'd do it again after BFing, mostly to jump start a cleaner lifestyle. I really kind of wish I'd stuck to the general principles of the plan, but I fell off the wagon.
