I somehow forgot to put mascara on this morning. Not sure how that happened, but the second I got in the elevator at work and took off my sunglasses, I saw myself in the mirror and something just looked "off", lol.
Luckily there's a CVS right around the corner!! I ran over and got a new curler (which I needed anyway) and some maybelline.
I'm such a girl.
Re: Confession
My confession:
I am getting laid off on May 25th and I've known about it pretty much since April 6th. I've cut myself off from all clothes/shoe/accessory shopping and I'm DYING. I'm so sad that I won't need to get dressed up for work anymore, and there are so many cute things this season that I LOVE. I need pieces for my summer work wardrobe desperately AND I HAVE NO REASON TO BUY ANYTHING THIS YEAR other than an interview suit.
bleh.
DH is trying to convince me to start going to his barber shop. Ain't gonna happen noway nohow!
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
I would've done the same thing! Bad thing is there isn't a drug store near me at work! So I better NEVER EVER forget
Which Maybelline did you get?
Yeah, I had a moment of panic once I got in my office and was then like DUH! I can just buy some! I ended up getting the One by One Volume express. I had no idea which to get, but this actually turned out to be a pretty decent choice!
@LTP: I'm so sorry about your job!! I know how depressing it can be to want to buy all the cute stuff out there but not having a) the funds, or b) the occasion to wear them. I'm in limbo with my work now too, not knowing if they have the funds for me to work over the summer. I would laugh in my DH's face if he ever suggested what yours did...

Yep, I think we've all been there but only the strong will admit it! haha jk
LTP, you stay strong woman! There is no reason to give into the barber shop too!
Love the part about the barber shop. Men. I tell ya
I've cut back for beauty purchases a lot and it sucks. I think because I used to shop all the time my senior year in college (but really, it was places like Forever 21) my friends still think I shop all the time. I've been trying to build a bigger e-fund, and really in the last 2 years I barely purchase clothes. I feed my "fashion hunger" by just pinning a bunch of things.
When it comes to budgeting/saving, every penny counts. However, there's no greater feeling than a good haircut or pedicure so don't knock everything out 100%.
lol, trust me, this is a hill I will die on, lol
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
I am very sorry, I went thru a lay off and unemployement few years ago, at least you are given a littel heads up to emotionally prepare yoursleft, I was told in the morning at 9:00 in my boss's office, when I got back to my desk I could not log into my computer to save any of my work or contacts. It does get better, I would have not landed this job that I have today if I was still working at that company. The staying home, not dressing up and being frugal with friviouls expenses is also a lot easier than you think. It sure was a very humbling experience for me.
I agree that I have been very lucky to get the heads up, VERY.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
ooooooh... now I get your siggy pic. Pull a Milton and burn it down and head to Mexico! Well on second thought... I think I recall saying you work for/with the government or possibly the USGC or Navy so maybe not?
Ugh LTP, that sucks. But I'm totally with you -- you don't mess around with your hair.
I've been WAY lazy with makeup lately (directly correlating to my lack of sleep), but I keep an extra tube of mascara in my bag at all times for "emergencies."
I'm a civilian but I often work with the USCG and other governmental bodies.
I've been kicking myself a little bit that I didn't keep better track of 5.5 years of the shenanigans here, it could have been a best-seller, lol.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
I feel ya. I swear sometimes it feels like the workplace is a zoo with a bunch of animals flinging their poo on the wall....
