Has anyone been? There's a good deal on CheapCaribbean right now and the idea of 3 days in a kid free environment sounds great for our anniversary.
I'd prefer to hit an area other than MX since we've been there a few times but the price is right, and I like that it's an AI, all adults.

We went this past New Year's. We were disappointed in the food....we were really expecting fresh guacamole and some great fresh items and felt as though most of the food was processed. The guac especially. The property was nice but small. The service was hit or miss.
We enjoyed ourselves and relaxed though. I hear Maroma is much nicer property so if you can go there instead, I'd recommend that!
We also went to Playa for our honeymoon 2 years ago as well. We stayed at El Dorado Casitas Royale which was ok as well. Felt more like being in college and less honeymoon-ey. Very social but we had fun.
The second week we stayed at Grand Velas which I highly recommend! Everything...the food, the service, the property...all first-rate!
