Can we talk swimsuits...
Do you think more expensive suits are worth it, vs., say, a Target suit?
Where do you usually buy your swimsuits?
I grew up in AZ so I spent a TON of time in the pool...now I'm in the Midwest, not as hot 
Now that my girls are a bit older, we'll probably be swimming 2-3 times a week...so I'm wondering if I should splurge on a nicer suit.
Also, I do want them to fit *well*. Don't want anything popping out while I'm playing w/ the kids! Not to mention that ... uhhh... my body is not in as good a shape as it used to be. So I need things to stay in place.
Randomly looking at this suit on Amazon (probably in teal). Thoughts on it?? Top is $77, bottoms are $50ish(?) and they currently have $20 off. Does that seem like a reasonable price for a suit?

For me? No....I use a swimsuit probably less than 6-8 times per year. I think most of mine are from Target or VS. But I think we have very different needs so it may be worth it to you to splurge.
For me, I would say no, more expensive isn't worth it. I rarely have use for one and when I do, it's usually in chlorinated water (often a hot tub) which is hard on the fabric. I also don't need a lot of structure or support up top, so cheap Target or Delia's suits me fine.
I really like the look of the suit from Amazon, though!
For me also...no. I rarely use a swimsuit..maybe this summer will change since we moved to FL haha. Most of mine are Target and VS as well.
Is the piece on that bikini top metal? I got a bikini from Target with a metal thing on the top for a cruise, and it was really cute but the metal got hot. Just a thought.

Most of my suits are Vix. They are definitely better quality than other brands of suits I've bought - the fabric doesn't fade, stretch, or fray, the swimsuit stays in place, and the fit works really well for my body, plus I like a lot of their styles.
That said, they are expensive and I don't know if I'd say Price of Vix/Price of Target is equivalent to the ratio of Quality of Vix/Quality of Target. I try to snag them on sale. Sale price definitely worth it for me.

I have both. The ass might stretch out faster on the cheap ones. I don't notice a HUGE difference though. I like the cheap Target ones mainly because I like to have 3-4 suits when I vacation so that at least one is always dry. And they do have cute ones. But I usually get sucked into buying at least one expensive one a year that is just too pretty to resist.
I'd probably look at Lands End if you want something mommy friendly. They advertise that their suits are "tug" free or whatever. But honestly, in my experience nobody stresses that much over modesty at a pool or waterpark. An occasional re-adjust is not the end of the world.
We spend almost every day in the pool in the Summer. I think more expensive suits are better for a lot of use and especially for support. The price seems about right for a quality suit. I don't love that one or hate it. Metal pieces on more expensive suits have never had the issue of heating up for me since they are usually very minimally contacting skin or wrapped in fabric on the back. I find that I'm often tossing cheaper suits before the season ends and will only buy them when the pieces go to $5-$10 per piece if I'm getting bored with what I usually wear.
I tend to buy a lot of higher quality suits at TJ Maxx for around $30-$40 for the entire suit if it's a two piece. They will allow for returns within 30 days if the hygenic liner is still in the suit. Always rinse them after getting out of the water or wash them to make them last longer.
For me there's a huge difference. I have to buy suits in bra sizes and they're frequently $$$$.

yes, exactly! I'm small, but things have stretched out (wrinkly tummy pouch when I bend over, boobs sagging!). So while stuff might fit, it doesn't necessarily look great. That's why I was wondering if the more expensive suits are thicker material to hold it in and keep things looking smooth
