Not even bin Laden thought he was capable of being president.
From released writings found in his compound:
Bin Laden argued that the assassination would see an "utterly unprepared" Vice President Joe Biden elevated to the Oval Office and plunge the US into crisis. He also wanted jihadis to kill Gen David Petraeus, the then-commander of US forces in Afghanistan and "man of the moment".
Re: This has got to be a blow to poor Joe Biden's ego
LOL. This made me chuckle.
Now here's the real question: What would it have said if McCain had been elected? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
For realsies. I read another article that quoted him as stressing leaving Biden alone. Westerners on a bin Laden don't touch list have to be pretty few and far between. I wonder how I could have gotten on that...
I thought that was hilarious. I think he said he liked NBC, though? But he criticized the US media for always searching for scoops and exclusives.
Anyway, I think the vast majority of people think the VP is always unprepared or underqualified to be president. And sometimes, unfortunately, the VP gets a chance to prove them wrong. When Garfield was shot people thought Arthur was going to be a disaster, and supposedly he really cleaned up his act and did a decent job. Remember Truman? And how people underestimated him?
