Have a very unusual question...a little bird family has made
their nest inside my outside grill. The racks are not in. Do you think the grill can be cleaned and would be safe to use again!
Re: Have a very unusual question...a little bird family has made
Surprisingly easy to get rid of those too. Shop vac'ed out the birds nest, filled the space with diatomaceous earth, and then left the vent on and sprayed bug spray in it to reach all the mites in there. I'm still cleaning up dead ones that fall out of the vents, but they're almost gone.
You could also have turned the grill on, shut the lid and roasted the bugs out for 15 minutes or so. After cleaning the nest out of course.
In fact, I'd do this before using the grill again. Bug sprays can leave some nasty residues behind that you don't want in your food.
