Anyone going to see The Avengers?

2 hours to go for us East coasters! DH and I watched all the movies leading up to it this week. I got my power nap in, Red Bull ready to go... Who else is geeking out with me?

Re: Anyone going to see The Avengers?

  • We're going tomorrow.

It's bad that we've only watched Thor?

A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.
  • I'm in the theatre right now.

I saw it last week here in Korea. I had only seen the Ironman movies so I was a little confused on some of the characters but I still really enjoyed the movie. Have fun!

  • I saw it last week as well...I'm not really a comic person and had only previously seen Ironman, but it was decent. DH and our other friends loved it cause they were into it before.

  • It was great! But I'm a comic book geek. I think it helps if non-comic folks see the other movies before this one so that you understand the background to the conflict and origin of the characters. You could probably skip IronMan 2 and be alright.
  • Tomorrow morning, bright and early.

  • We're taking the kids tomorrow night after DH gets off work.  Woot!  My filmmaker buddy got to see a pre-release screening and said he hasn't enjoyed a movie that much in a LONG time... and he's got excellent taste. :)

H is a serious comic book geek so I'm glad to hear it.

  • I can't wait!  But we probably will wait a few weeks to let the crowds thin out a little. Is it playing in IMAX?

Yep. I saw it in 3D IMAX last night.

  • We loved it!! I need to see it again--we had to sit a little close for my taste, and it's hard to take in that much action from up front.

It's definitely not a stand-alone movie. It wouldn't make much sense if you hadn't seen at least Ironman and Thor. Those are the best of the bunch, IMO, and they give the most background for The Avengers.

  • Oh AND I'm not seeing it in imax, I'm not seeing it in 3D, but I AM seeing it at my favorite drive-in. That's right, a drive-in. I freaking love going to the drive-in during the summer.
