When requesting inspection fixes can you give a deadline?
The seller received our requested list of fixes as well as the estimate for the roof/mold issue on Wednesday afternoon and we still haven't heard anything. The P&S is suppose to be signed a week from today, but I am wondering if we could of asked him to let us know within 72 hours if he is going to make accept our requestd or if we are stuck in limbo until closer to the P&S date.
TIA!
Re: When requesting inspection fixes can you give a deadline?
For something like a mold and roof issue it's probably going to take some time to get contractors to come over and get estimates, and then they have to look them over and decide what they want to do.
I would be concerned that they aren't going to respond well to being asked for an answer in that short of a time period.
That's what I figured. I just hate being in limbo and DH just asked if we should go to some open houses this weekend to check out some properties that just came on the market.
I asked for fixes a couple of days before due dillegence was up. They wanted a couple of extra days to get quotes so we just extended to due dillegence.
In my area, the standard real estate purchase contract has a deadline for requesting and negotiating inspection repairs. You might check or ask your agent if yours does as well.
