XP - Help me name this horse!

I posted this on the book board, but figured I should post here too!

Assuming he checks out okay with the vet later this week, this horse will be mine! However, his registered name just won't do. So he needs a new name, and I'm having a horrible time thinking of one. So please throw some suggestions at me and tell me what you think he looks like! And he is a boy. :)

Re: XP - Help me name this horse!

  • Hmmm...

I feel like he should have an "S" name. Maybe Stan? Steve?

  • What is his registered name?
  • The first name that popped to mind was Squire.  He just looks sorta regal.  Also slightly alarmed in the photo, but I'm presuming the ears hang out normally most of the time.  Stick out tongue

What breed is he?  How many hands?  Any distinguishing marks anywhere?

  • he looks like a Skip to me...i can see a twinkle of defiance in those eyes!

I was saddling him when this photo was taken, thus the ears back. :) Not aggressive--just paying attention to me. He's definitely a pleaser.

He's TB, off-track, haven't measured him yet but he's tall--I'm guessing about 16.3 hh. He has a star, but it's so small it's literally like 10 white hairs on his forehead, if that. Otherwise, no marks.

  • He looks like the name Dante (pronounced DAHN-tay)  would fit him. It means lasting, enduring in latin (or maybe it was Italian)
  • It takes me forever to name a new animal, so I'm not even gonna try here; I just wanted to say he's got such sweet eyes!! What a beautiful boy, and congrats! :)

  • How about Doc or Major...those are some of my favorite names from horses we've owned.
  • hhmm, maybe it would be best to get to know him a bit first. I've found all of my barn names come after I spend time and get to them for a while. Good luck with him, he is really cute! :-)
