Avengers - 3D or regular?

Can anyone tell me if we should go through the effort to see The Avengers in 3D or is 2D acceptable?

Re: Avengers - 3D or regular?

  • Hubby and I saw it in Imax 3d and it was amazing...if you have that option available to you definitely go for it! If not...maybe just 2D, as I'm not sure if the awesomeness was due to it mostly being Imax or 3D.  Smile

  • We saw it in 2D and I didn't feel like I was missing anything.
  • It was converted to 3D rather than filmed in 3D, which in my opinion results in lower quality 3D. I did see it in IMAX 3D and it looked good, but I think it would be fine in 2D.

Same. There were a few scenes I think would have made me sick in 3D!

  • I saw it in 3D and I wish I had seen it in 2D (didn't have a choice, it was a free ticket!).  I hate 3D anyway because I tend to find it distracting and headache inducing, but poorly done 3D during high action scenes is an abomination, and this movie definitely had quite a number of scenes that were like that.
  • I saw it in 2D and there were a couple of shots that I thought would have looked cool in 3D, but I didn't really miss it.
  • DH saw it in regular and then 3D IMAX...he said 2D is fine, but he'd go to the IMAX for sure.  Like others said, it was back-converted to 3D, and it's not very impressive, and even distracting at times.

Also, stay past the credits.  :-D

  • I saw it in both, opening night in 2D and last night in 3D Imax. I enjoyed is just as much both times. The 3D was fun, and after a while your eyes adjust and you don't even realize it's in 3D, just really enhanced. Either way, it's a great movie. I think I personally prefer 2D in general anyways.

It was awesome for sure (and I didn't want to go).  I agree about 3D sickness possibly.

  • DH and I watched it in 2D on opening day and thought it was amazing. We're thinking about going out to the mall to watch it IMAX 3D just because (we're BIG Marvel fans, lol).
