Can I get some opinions on my Master Bedroom ideas please?

In the pic below I have the art and the blue coverlet.  I need help deciding on a duvet and paint color please.  I don't have furniture to match it yet, but I'll probably go espresso when we get a set later on.

Paint is (from left to right) SW Balanced Beige (darker brown), SW Realist Beige (gray tan, but more tan) and SW Agreeable Gray (gray tan with more gray).

For the duvet I'm thinking either a solid white duvet or something like this: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=122234 or http://www.potterybarn.com/products/hadley-ruched-duvet-cover-sham-white/?pkey=call-white-bed

Here is the coverlet close up.  There is some pattern, so I'm not sure if a solid white duvet would go best? http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=122635&RN=42&

Any thoughts on which color paint or a solid vs ruched duvet?  Thanks!

  • I like the soild duvet and SW Realist Beige. Are you going to have any other colors in the room?? something to make it pop out maybe something in pink similar to the inside of the flowers. just a thought.. good luck I am sure it will come out great

  • I actually prefer one of the ruched duvets.  I saw the dkny one at Tuesday Morning the other day, and wished that we didn't already have new bedding for our guest rooms, because it was so pretty.

Even though the coverlet is patterned and has texture, I think a plain white duvet would not complement it well and it would be too stark or kind of blah.  I think the ruching would add interest....another layer of texture without competing with the coverlet, like another pattern might.

  • We have a very similar patterned coverlet on our bed over a solid white duvet cover. I prefer it because it looks clean and hotel-like to me. Here is the inspiration pic I used for our bedding, wall color, and window coverings.

  • I like the dark paint color and the first bedding choice. The third bedding choice is really nice too if you want blue but I'd lighten up the room with light sheets and pillows.
