Help me figure out what to serve for

my book club's annual cookie exchange? It will be Monday, Dec 15 at 6:30 pm. We usually meet at Borders but for the December meeting we meet at person's house and do a cookie exchange. I opened my mouth and volunteered to host.

1.I work a lot, December is busy, so whatever I can do Sunday would be best.

2. I am thinking hot chocolate so people can have it either alcoholic or not. Anything else? Wine, soda, water

3. My cooking skills are basic - I was thinking munchies. I know we've had a couple of appetizer posts so I'm off to check those out.

Tips, advice?

    apple cider?

Warm apple cider with Captain Morgan and Goldschlager Cinnamon Schnapps = AWESOME!

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I went scrounging through the posts; what do you think of  LMW's mini pizzas

    Bridey's Tortilla roll-ups

    8 ounces cream cheese, softened

    8 ounces sour cream

    8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

small can chopped black olives, drained

chopped onion (I can't remember how much...1/2 cup? do what looks & tastes right)

chopped peppers of your desired heat - you can use a small can of diced green chiles for mild, a small can of jalapenos (or 1 fresh jalapeno) for medium, 1 chopped serrano for hot, or 1 habanero for kill-you-now-hot

seasoned salt, 1 tsp or so

    large flour tortillas

Mis all ingredients, except tortillas, together in a bowl. Spread thin layer of mixture onto tortillas. Roll up tortillas and let chill for at least an hour (overnight is good to let the flavors mingle). Make sure to tightly cover the tortillas so they dont dry out.  Slice, and serve with salsa or guacamole.

    Do you think too heavy?
