I've had little congestion bumps on my forehead for years, which retin A and clarisonic help to combat, but I woke up yesterday with TONS of tiny bumps on my face that I've never had before and aren't the same as the clogged pore bumps. They are mostly along my jaw line, where I've never had issues before. They aren't really visible to the naked eye unless the light is just right, but I can feel them and they are driving me crazy.
I was trying to figure out the potential source when I saw the bumps post below and the origins moisturizer mentioned as a possible source. I just started using origins after getting the free earth day samples.
I'm guessing this is what might have caused it and will not use it again. I'm surprised that such a "natural" product could cause these, especially since I dont' have sensitive or otherwise reactive skin. Anyone know what ingredient might be the culprit so I can avoid it in the future? Also, if you have had them (Gilded), did you do anything to get rid of them, or did they go away after you stopped use? How long did it take? I hate them!
Thanks so much!
Re: Origins causing bumps? (Gilded?)
Hi All His, sorry for the delay I just saw your post.
I am sorry to hear about your trouble but I find comfort that I am not the only one- I too had high hopes for Origins and was so disappointed and shocked by the results.
I actually ended up at my derm. they put me on a exfoliation and a salicylic acid based treatment lotion. I also remember them telling me to gently steam or warm compress the area to open the pores THEN apply the tx lotion.
After about two weeks my skin was completely back to normal.
Good Luck.
FWIW- after a few months I tried Origins again (since I had bought a whole line) and the same thing happened, so I am sure it was the Origins!! Talk about cash in the TRASH.
Thanks for the advice re: what you did. I have epiduo that I will use in addition to retin a (which is supposed to be exfoliating, right?) to try to treat them on my own. Go figure I was just in to the see the derm last week, right before this happened, and I'd like to avoid another specialist co-pay if I can get them to go away on my own w/ your input.
I wonder what it is about origins that does this? my bumps do appear to be more reactionary rather than the clogged pores that one might develop if using a moisturizer that had clogging oil in it. just so weird b/c this is the only time i've ever had this happen, and i've tried lots of products.
sorry you lost out $$$! Mine were just those big free samples, so i just missed out on the inconvenience of rushing to get them and in having to repair my skin.
If I were you, i'd still take them back (if you even held on to them?) for a refund. I'd guess that a higher-end company like origins would have a good return policy?
