Home Warranty

Hello,

My fiance and I will be closing on our first home this Friday! We negotiated into our contract that the seller's would reimburse us for a one year home warranty, so before Friday we have to have purchased a home warranty policy. Does anyone have any recommendations for companies that they have used? We have google searched but aren't sure which companies are legitimate and offer good service. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Re: Home Warranty

  • We have American Home Shield which the buyers provided at closing. We haven't had to use it yet, so unable To provide a review for you. I know a lot of home warranty companies have mixed reviews. Good luck and Congrats on your new home.

  • Try asking your agent for recommendations.  They usually know which ones are good in your area and which they hear a lot of complaints about.

I agree with tbride. Also if they or you have Coldwell Banker, I know they have warranty options. I think it is American Home Shield? We had it when we bought our home in 2005 and it was great and well worth it. We used it for several things and we are also extending a warranty to our buyers when we close in June.
