I just got an email from our REA with an email from our buyer's agent attached asking where we stood with our loan.
Here's where I am - inspection was done, with some issues we asked the seller to address. We received the contract, but our attorney told us to wait on signing until we knew where the issues stood. I'd contacted the bank and faxed ahead all our important docs - we've been working with her and were preapproved a while ago. Our loan agent told us not to come in to complete the rest until the contract was signed.
So I've emailed everyone, because now we know what's happening with the things that needed to be addressed and can return the signed contract, and will meet with the bank.
Am I missing something? Our REA is...a little bit of a flake so I worry that there's something she thought she told me that she didn't. I emailed her askign the same question, but since you all are always so helpful, I thought I'd check in here too.
Re: Am I Missing Something?
Usually the contract is signed with the requirement that any repairs be completed or some other suitable alternative like a credit to fix the issues, and if the repairs aren't completed you would get your deposit back, and could walk away from the house.
So I think that's where the confusion is probably coming from.
I did hear back from our REA, and she said all is well. So...I guess that's that. I'm not going to stress out about it. Everytime I communicate with her, I ask "what should I be doing"...so as long as she tells me I'm good, I'm going with it.
So who knows....ah well.
