Favorite destinations in SE Asia?

I am planning a 2 week trip in November.  We are very interested in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand.  Know we don't have the time for everything, so would love to hear people's favorite places.  Thanks!

Make sure you get to Ha Long Bay while you're in Vietnam.  It's gorgeous.
  • For 2 weeks I always suggest the trip we did in 2008. Bangkok to Siam Reap to Phnom Penh to HCM city. It leaves out the gorgeous Halong Bay the PP mentioned but gives you a good taste at all 3 countries you mentioned.

  • Definitely Siem Reap. We liked Bangkok but didn't spending time there. We loved Laos

My favorites are Vietnam and Laos. Ha long bay, Hanoi, Hoi An are highlights of Vietnam. Loved all of Laos, especially Luang Prabang. Didn't care for Cambodia, but Angkor Wat is a must see. Thailand ranks as just okay for me.

  • I've been to all over Burma and also Bangkok and beach towns and islands around Phuket.  My favorite is Bagan.  There is no place like it anywhere.
  • Our Thailand trip was Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi (instead of the popular Phuket).  We did a layover in Hong Kong on our way back to Chicago.  Loved all three cities - one of my favorite trips ever!
