embossing question--PIP

Hi ladies,

I'm trying to recreate this invitation and I'm wondering what the best way to make the "1" is. I have an embossing heat gun and the powder, but I don't have a "1" rubber stamp or a stencil. Is it better to use a rubber stamp or can I make a stencil of the "1" and put some sort of glue on top of the stencil and then apply the powder? I know that would be easier than finding the right size rubber stamp at this point....thanks for your help!

Re: embossing question--PIP

  • I would go the stamper route sounds  less messy to me personally.

I don't have an experience with embossing, but I wanted to say that I love the invitation! I have it bookmarked on Pinterest!

  • Yeah the stamping route seems way easier, but I haven't been able to find a big number 1 rubber stamp....shoot.

Try googling paper source. It's a store in Boston and a  few other states. I got larger number stamps and embossed my wedding table numbers back in 2008. I think I got a set of 0 to 9 for about $50. It may have been less though. The numbers were maybe 4 or 5 inches tall.

  • Make a stencil, hold it in place.

Rub a cotton ball on a clear ink pad and then in your stencil.

Remove stencil, add powder. Make sure it looks like a 1 and you didn't miss any spots.

    Use heat gun!
