Happy Monday ladies.
for everyone!
Friday- H made dinner then we saw The Avengers.
Saturday- Laid out, then went to Petsmart and Starbucks. My parents invited us over to dinner, so H and I go a yummy free meal. I took my teenage brother and his friend out to practice driving and neither of them went faster than 30 MPH. I thoughts teens liked to drive fast!
Sunday- Just ran some errands and cleaned the house. Overall a pretty good weekend!
Re: Weekend recaps!
Saturday - we spent TEN hours cleaning my MIL's house and H's aunt's house (who lives a mile away from MIL). I took down H's aunt's Christmas tree. wtf. Anyway, cleaning his mom's house was basically a dream come true. I have been wanting to do it for years but didn't want to come off as offensive. However, there's just so much stuff that I constantly feel overwhelmed when I get there so I was happy to help out! And his aunt is renting a dumpster on Friday to get rid of a lot of stuff (she filled her 2-car garage!) ... yikes!
Sunday - a very emotional church service and then I went to the bridal shower (that I'm not invited to the wedding) and it was a lot of fun (they're having a vintage circus themed wedding) and beautifully decorated. However, I wish showers would get the ball rollin' sooner than later. It started at 3 and they didn't start gift opening until 5. Oh well.
Tonight DH and I are going to see Avengers!
Friday I went to see my cousin and her baby who are visiting from FL. My whole family was there so it was pretty nice.
Saturday we went to the gym, ran errands and did yard work. The plus side is that we made a nice dinner and relaxed.
Sunday was my nephews baptism and after "party." After, we just relaxed. I am so tired still, even though my weekend wasn't that crazy!
Friday - Movies and drinks at home
Saturday - Went to Zumba with my mom in the AM, then went to the mall to return some shoes that we got while we were in Dallas, and replaced them with new prettier, awesomer ones that fit
then we were supposed to meet D's aunt for a concert but she bailed - luckily we were able to sell the tickets to a couple that came in from out of town. We piddled around downtown, found a bar we like, then went to a coworker's birthday party. It was a blast! I had so much fun!
Sunday - We bought a new bed!!! I'm so excited! We have a P.O.S. $200 for the set mattress that we bought when we first got back from our honeymoon. We were sleeping on a full at the time, so any queen, at that point, was better than what we had. - Anyway, we got super lucky. The same guy that was there two years ago was there yesterday and sold us a GREAT mattress. We got the floor sample, so it was less expensive, AND he took a little off as well. We also ended up buying a mattress protector, an AWESOME pillow and pillow protector... to make us feel super smancy, it was the "spa collection" AND we spent less than 1k. I'm excited.. can you tell?
Good morning!!
Friday we had some friends come over and party at the house. I made a homemade pizza and had some of the Red Stag and coke, which is dangerously delicious.
Saturday we went to the finish spot for a charity bike race that our good friend was in and met him plus some friends for that, where they had free wine samples, food, and live music. Then in the evening we went out for BBQ at a spot where all the hot rods meet up so it was a mini car show, too.
Yesterday we took the dogs for a long walk and then went to see my family for a little while in the afternoon. Did some stuff around the house to get ready for the week, picked up a few grocery items, and then just relaxed the rest of the evening.
PiLife, that's great about the new bed and the deal on it!! Awesome news!
BM - When I was learning how to drive right after I got my permit, I wouldn't go over 20 mph. That changed quickly, but I was still really slow at first.
Milsey - We watch both of those programs as well!! I think the last one we saw was the extreme parenting. Some of them were crazy but I didn't think too much of the rich mom who uses the reward system (extreme and lavish) for her kids to get good grades. Barbara Walters trips me out, it seems like she's the one disapproving.
Friday - It was good, we went out for drinks with some of my friends and ended back at my place for a nightcap by the fire.
Saturday - I had a pretty chill morning. I woke up pretty late, messed around on the internet, then cleaned up a little bit. I got ready and MH came home... we pre-partied then went out. The little bar and grill was so awesome. They had a roof top with live bands all night. The booze was flowing and the food was yummy.
Sunday - Was pretty relaxed. We somehow still got up early and went driving around the city. I found this place that overlooks the Mississippi and that serves amazing bloody mary's. Yum! After that we went to the Civil Rights Museum, then went home.
Um, yum!
I've actually never had homemade pizza - Papa Johns 4 lyfe!
Good Morning!
Friday - I had to work, but the big boss-man let us leave halfway through the night! Went home where BIL (stayed there last week and this weekend) and his buddies were sloshed-drunk. Hung out with them for a while, then bed.
Saturday - We had "date day". Lunch, Shopping, The Avengers, Dinner. The goal was to avoid BIL and his buddies.
Sunday - Cleaned up around the house, watch the 1992 version of "Jersey Girl", trip to town for early dinner and grocery shopping, laundry.
DH has college finals this week, so he studied all weekend.
Friday - watched TV and read. That was about it, haha.
Saturday - DH rode along with me (studying all the while) to go to the Urgent Care center to have my sore throat checked out (some kind of mild virus, it's already feeling better) followed by lunch at Subway and the grocery store. Then it was studying for him and reading a book for me.
Yesterday - DH studied and I read, haha.
My Blog
Friday- watched some TV with the hubs when he finally got off work
Saturday- Woke up and drove to the IL's with the dog. MIL took me early bday shopping and to a nice Italian dinner.
Sunday- Drove up to Dallas for the Dog Bowl, which is where they turn the Cotton Bowl stadium into an off leash dog park. Then I drove the 3 hours home and crashed.
Friday - I spent part of the day at the Humane League with some coworkers. We painted a bunch of hallways, while others widened the dog run. I made the mistake of going to visit the pups and kittehs, and left sad that I couldn't adopt one. One of the guys in my group had a cookout at his place afterwards, so we ate and drank.
Saturday - S & I went to a charity pancake breakfast with a bunch of his coworkers. After that we grocery shopped (joy) then went home and cleaned the house. Went to the trail for a long walk in the afternoon, then we hung out at home and grilled.
Sunday - I met my friend at the gym for a long workout, came home and cleaned some more and finished laundry. Grilled again and watched the Flyers get their asses beat.
1. Your weekend sounds awesome
2. $1M batmitzvah? ridiculous and unnecessary. And buying a teenager a $20K dress? ugh. And I think it was the girl's aunt who said "she would probably get the good grades anyway without all the gifts" and that's what annoys me. I was never bribed to get good grades (or necessarily rewarded). They were expected.
3. The nudist family was interesting and their 9 y/o son seems to have a mental problem, imo, and I'm not trying to be rude.
4. While some people think the monster truck for a kid is crazy, I do understand the safety precautions that have to be met. Bull riding, on the other hand, is... not safe.
Morning! Nothing TOO exciting happened this weekend...
Friday - We just ordered take out subs and sat on the couch, watched an episode of Friday Night Lights and hit the hay.
Saturday - I got up early to read The Hunger Games, got to a great part and then my Kindle died - like broken dead. The worst part is that it isn't even my Kindle; it's my sister's and now she gets to keep mine since I broke hers. I really thought I was going to cry. That evening we met up with my family to celebrate my other sister's birthday.
Sunday - I was dragged to a baby shower, but it actually wasn't horrible. The pregnant chick hates showers too, so it was very painless and fast. And I got to wear a cute new outfit.
When I got home, we made some mai tais, threw some Jimmy Buffett on and grilled. It was fab!

Morning! Happy Monday!
Friday: We went with another couple to the Mariner's game. It was fun but traffic was horrible getting into the city so that was sort of a downer. I came home and crashed.
Saturday: Slept in, got around and went shopping for Mother's Day stuff. Then we went to a friend's house for tacos and games.
Sunday: Went to see The Avengers (which was awesome!), then home for some house cleaning and laundry. MH did some work outside and then we went out for pizza.
Mine was busy, I'm tired today!
Fri: went out to eat w/ DH then went home and chilled a bit until I had to go pick up SD at church (she was volunteering for an event there)
Sat: got up early and babysat my niece and nephew till about 2 in the afternoon. Went home briefly then ran a local 5k
Sun: got up at 4am and ran a half marathon, then came home and cleaned a bit, took a shower and took a nap. Then did some laundry and lounged on the couch the rest of the day
You are a saint! It was nice of you to help.
I feel like you just described my MIL except we're about 99% positive she is a hoarder and compulsive shopper. Although she talks about wanting to clean all.the.time, she never commits or follows through with it. Instead, she tries to hand her random crap off to us and other people calling it a "gift." We know she has issues and we want to help but we're hesitent to help clean in the first place because we're afraid she'll just fill it back up. MH would be over the moon if she was willing to rent a dumpster, but I know she wouldn't throw anything away.
Oh! I forgot about my weekend recap. lol. It wasn't too exciting anyway.
Friday: I don't even remember what I did. I think I got caught up with friends on the phone, uploaded photos from our trip to my computer and Facebook, and drank pina coladas.
Saturday: I got together with my sisters in a nearby city and went shopping all day, then out to dinner. It was nice to do something with them without the kids around for once.
Sunday: I spent most of the day lying around after having an allergic reaction to my favorite peanut butter. Boo.
Later this week I'll have a "weekend" with MH. We're thinking about going camping, hiking, and kayaking if the weather is nice.
Friday- Stayed home and caught up on shows.
Saturday- Tennis match with friend
Sunday- Finished my book
