My last couple of weeks of work have been ridiculous. I usually work M-F, but this time I worked 7 straight days, had one off, worked 2, had one off, worked a half day, then 2 full days, then a day off, today is working a half day, working 2 more full days, then another half day, then one more full day...before I get 2 full days in a row off again. I'm so freaking out of sorts I don't even know what day it is.
This week I have to pay $400 for a broken window and at least $200 for an AC service call (which totals almost 1/3 of my net monthly income). The AC guy doesn't have the right part and will have to come out again once it gets here, there goes more money out the window.
My house is a WRECK. My yard is even MORE of a wreck. I'm sad over my parents' dog. I hit a bird on the highway on the way home today, and ran over broken glass in the parking lot. I haven't been to the grocery store since before this weird work schedule began. My cat is having some health problems and I may have to put her down.
All I want is just to escape this goddamned life for one goddamned weekend. And then come back to everything being over, cleaned, stocked, and paid for.
How you single moms do it, I'll never understand. I can barely take care of myself sometimes.

Re: Today...I'm overwhelmed
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
Hugs to you.
We do it because we don't have a choice. But that's not to say that it's always easy. Sometimes I just want a break too!
Pretty much the same way you do - I say "I can't do this again tomorrow," and when tomorrow comes I get up and do it all again. Sometimes you thrive, sometimes you barely survive.
Hope things turn around for you soon.
HA. Not just a part, but a whole new effing AC.
Looks like I'm going to have to dance around a pole on weekends to pay for it.
:-(
And the kicker is, I can't even get window units to tide me over for the summer because my windows are old 1950s style crank outs that don't fit window units.
#sofucked
I can do more heat tolerance than the average person because I'm usually always cold, but it was 86 inside my house on Thursday. I had all the windows open and 3 fans going, and it was too unbearable to even sleep here, so I went to my BFs apartment.
Lots of hugs!!
Keep your head up, it will get better. Hopefully your schedule will get back to normal and you'll be able to get back to normal soon. Hopefully nothing else will "break" so you can try and get your finances back in order.
I make $15.50/hr. I bring in about $1900ish a month. I'm at the top of my earning potential for my knowledge and skill level. I was enrolled in school 2 years ago but had to withdraw for financial reasons before I could even start. It would do me no good to go back to school and get $20k in student loans only to make $2-3 more an hour (which is what nurses, for example, are making here). Pay scales here are not high.
Sorry, I hope things turn around for you.
Why don't you write down each of the issues, and write/ focus on little things you CAN do about them, even if they are small. Write out bulletpoints of little solutions or things that lead to solutions. Also, focus on what you DO have, even if it is not much. Start witha gratitiude list. It will all work out, but focusing on everything that is going wrong will only anger it and create more problems. I have been there, so I know the frustration and how hard it is to get out of the cycle. It'll happen if you shift your focus.. stay strong!!
Sorry but then it's time to increase your skill level and knowledge unless you want to live like this for the rest of your life. Saying school or career change isn't an option is short sighted. What about moving to a different area where pay scales are higher? You consistently post about hating your job and not having any money... perhaps a career change will be better for your wallet and your general enjoyment and satisfaction of life. Nothing will improve unless you decide to make a change.
