Amazing Race Finale (spoilers)
Such a lackluster ending to a disappointing season. Even the much hyped missed Road Block ended up being a joke. All the final teams had such terrible attitudes, but I really can't stand Rachel and Dave's arguing which made it hard to watch their tears of joy at the end. Hopefully next season's groups will be more pleasant!
Re: Amazing Race Finale (spoilers)
Of the teams that were left, I think they finished in the right order. I agree that the missed Road Block didn't live up to the hype. It was kind of cool to see them sail right back past Art & JJ though. I thought for sure they would have been exhausted after needlessely poling across the water twice.
I was disappointed not to see a recap challenge like they usually have.
Exactly. I am glad that the girls totally sailed past the BP guy on the sled road block though, because that was just funny.
It's also a little disgusting that how Rachel and Dave behaved towards each other on the race demonstrated an improvement upon their relationship. WTF! Dave was a complete and total abusive asshat.
The entire season including the legs of the race were lackluster. I miss the days when people couldn't always come back from a mistake. This season was filled with a bunch of legs where there was one flight/bus/train that left 12 hours after the start of the race and everyone was on the same plane/bus/train.
I rolled my eyes at their tears at the end. You know damn well if they'd lost he would have been verbally abusing her.
Isn't the last roadblock usually a mental challenge related to the entire race? I missed that. I guess I missed the mental challenges all together. I feel like they used to mix it up so that it wasn't just the most physically fit team that had the advantage.
I used to like it a lot more too when they didn't always all catch up. Like with the ferry, it was so anticlimactic when they challenge didn't open until sunrise. Why even bother showing that they missed the train? It kills the suspense.
I felt bad for the BP guys, that was a disappointing way to end.
This season was awful. They all seemed like self-obsessed, spoiled, abusive brats.
I wish that Phil would've just said "None of you win, we're giving the million to Bopper and Mark because they actually ENJOYED their time on the race."
Couldn't have said it better my self.
If only it ended that way...it would have made it all worthwhile!
OMG YES. I so wish that would have happened somehow.
"Turns out that a-holes can't win. Too bad."
I agree that no one could have liked the final three teams, but I don't think that is the show's fault. They had an eclectic group of people to start and it just happened that the jerks of the bunch made it all the way through. I mean Booper and Mark did have two non elimination legs. It just wasn't their race.
I also agree that they were really missing the mental challenge at the end instead of the physical. Seemed like all the Hawaii challenges were pretty physical, nothing mental. And I hated that anyone who really lagged behind was given a chance to catch up (Rachel and Dave!).
And what was up with all the non-race related side things? For example, they had to go to the Hiroshima Memorial to do...nothing. They had to take a helicopter ride on Hawaii to look for...nothing. Also irked me that they made a big moment out of the Hiroshima memorial and then had the teams fly from there to Hawaii (um, you know the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor eventually lead to the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima). So why didn't they have a moment for Pearl Harbor too?
Although Vanessa and Ralph were not my favorite people either I really felt for her on the Japanese game show. I was laughing hysterically when Border Patrol was doing it, but you could see how swollen Vanessa ankle was. Glad that Ralph wanted her to just take the penalty and not do it (or at least it was edited that way).
Final observation - could Rachel from BB please buy some non-green, non-spandex clothes!
I would have loved for Bopper and Mark to win as well. They were such a great team.
I was also disappointed that there wasn't a memory challenge. I love those.
Just happy I don't have to listen to Rachel whine anymore.
