Just curious

Does anyone else do holidays with both your family and your inlaws?  Ever since my mom passed away my mother in law has kind of stepped up.  She is in no way trying to take my moms place, but she always includes my dad and sister in everything.  I love it and I am so greatfull that our families get along and are able to do this.  Me, DH, my dad, and sister are going over there tomorrow. My FIL ( dh's stepdad) has pancreatic cancer.  He also decided to stop doing chemo.  He is a great great man.  I love him dearly.  He's also the spitting image of Willy Neslon.  It's so funny.

  • Yeah we do it sometimes. It's great that our families can get along like that.

  • We do it this way, Dh is an only child so my family always includes him and his family!
  • This Thanksgiving my in-laws are having my mom, dad, nana and brother over for Thanksgiving.  They're going to have 21 people total!
  • Well DH's family lives in IN so it's not geographically possible.  My mom and stepdad (my dad passed away when I was 16) and my sister's family all live in my hometown.  I think if we all lived closer it would work, but it's just not possible.

So nice that all yall are able to do that - how wonderful is that?!?!!?  Wink
