Surprise! We have snakes...

Snakes on a plane? Oh no! Snakes at Jessica's house.

Yesterday I rushed into the backyard when I heard my neighbor screaming on the top of her lungs. Turns out there is a giant nest of snakes under an electric box between our properties. After looking around, we realized there were several crawling over both lawns. Now both Judd and the dog refuse to go in the yard. I'm scared they will get in the house.

This is Ohio! I didn't even know Ohio had snakes! What the heck are you supposed to do with snakes?!?!

Re: Surprise! We have snakes...

  • One of the ex's family members has been posting about snakes, too. She lives in Ohio... maybe there's something with the weather or nature causing them to reproduce more... weird... and I agree with Judd and the dog. I wouldn't go out there either and I'd call or do whatever to get rid of them. I wouldnt be able to sleep!! eww
  • Ick!

Chop the heads off with a shovel. That's what they teach you down south anyway. We always just left them alone though unless they were copperheads or water moccasins. Black and garden snakes are harmless and good for your vegetation.

Orherwise call an exterminator if you don't want to wield the shovel. ;)

  • Oh no, I HATE snakes!  I'm with Crystal, I'd do whatever I had to do to get rid of them. I was just telling DH this morning that if I ever found a snake inside our house that I think I would have to move. And, (in my own opinion, anyway), I'm generally a pretty rational person, So sorry you're dealing with this!

  • If they made their way into my house I would freak, but they probably aren't a bad thing to have in the yard, unless of course they are poisonous. They eat things like slugs and rodents.

I think you are confusing Ohio with Ireland!

  • Oh gross....I don't even know what i'd do.  I'd be calling an exterminator or something of the sort.  Snakes creep me out.
