Smash- Uma Thurman as Marilyn? PIP
I just got around to watching last week's Smash. As I was watching Uma Thurman in her Marilyn wig and costume I was thinking about a few posters here who said they couldn't "buy" Karen as Marilyn because she just doesn't look the part. With that in mind, I am dying to know what you guys think of Uma/"Rebecca" as Marilyn! 
I'll take Karen any day! Although I think Ivy (while her personality leaves much to be desired) fits the role best.

Not thrilled with Uma as Marilyn at all. I keep hoping they are going to ditch her.
I too think that Ivy makes the best Marilyn.
Looks-wise Ivy has it hands down.
I think Karen looks like she put on a bad Halloween costume when she is dressed as Marilyn.
I agree Uma dosn't have a Marilyn-esque body but I think she looks better than Karen as Marilyn but her singing is awful compared to Karen and Ivy. I hope they ditch Uma/Rebecca character too.
I think that's the point. We're supposed to think she's terribly wrong for the part because they just had to have a celebrity play the part instead of one of the two girls who were perfect for it to draw in investors. Hopefully, the show will go in the direction of Uma's character getting fired or injured and they have to use Karen or Ivy and the show will be a success without the celebrity.

I think both Uma and Karen stink as Marilyn. I also don't see the way the are pushing that Karen is so much better than Ivy. I think Ivy has the look and the voice down perfect. I actually like her voice a lot better than Karen's in a lot of the songs, the actress is really talented. And Karen really looks awful as Marilyn, bad halloween costume is a good way to put it!
But I enjoy the show and it will be interesting to see how it plays out!
Even if Uma and Marilyn were identical, girl cannot sing. I hate it when they choose a weak voice because of the star power attached to it. It's a musical. The lead should be able to really sing.
This, I hate Uma in this show. I don't care for Ivy but I do think that she is better than Karen as Marilyn.
