So we had agreed to meet at 5:30 at a local coffee shop. I got there at 5:25, because I like to be on time, and he was already there....and looked like his pictures (woo hoo for honest, current, pictures). It was awkward for all of a minute and then conversation just flowed. We laughed a ton and talked even more! We seem to have a lot in common and similar senses of humor.
Anyway, all of a sudden, I realize they are shutting down lights and when I look at my watch its 10 PM! He lives about an hour from here and still had to drive home, so we called it a night. Then there was the awkward end of the night "what should we do now" thing. We both said we had fun and hugged goodbye. He didn't say anything about doing it again or anything, and I was sort of waiting on him to mention it, so I guess I'm in the weird waiting zone.
All in all, it was a fun night!
ETA: dmarie, I literally did the Stuart Smalley thing in my car mirror on the way to the coffee shop. You'll find me by my mail box waiting for my dollar!
Re: f/u to coffee with a guy
Me too!
Me three!
Glad it went well! I think awkward-night endings are ok, it shows IMO that you both respect boundaries of the other person - and it's kind of cute that you both weren't really sure what do to.
Hopefully he will be in touch soon!
They see us rollin'...they be hatin'.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doris, I am SO happy for you! And I glad that you did the Stuart Smalley thing
Are you still holding your breath?
Listen, other women on here will disagree with me but don't be afraid to reach out to him! If I had a good date, I would wait a day or two and then just send a quick email saying "Thanks again. It was nice meeting you and I had a good time. If you would like to get together again, let me know" (or something to that effect). You don't need to ask him out but you are giving him the green light to ask YOU out again!

I agree with your advice and will wait it out a few days....but I'm hoping he was just so enamored with me that he'll want to set something up!

ITA with this. If I haven't heard from the guy wtihin a day, I just send a quick "Thanks again for last night-I had a really good time!"...and just see what they say. IMO...I'd rather "risk" it and tell them I had a good time then never hear from them again. It's usually worked to my favor. After that though...I agree that if a guy likes you, you'll know.
This. There's no harm in letting him know you're interested. If it is the right thing he'll call. If it's not, he won't, don't worry about playing the "wait and see" game.
This exactly! Sounds like an absolutely wonderful night! All of the dates that have been that way for me have led to wonderful people! But guys like to feel wanted to, so I totally agree with Achase that there is NO harm in letting him know you would love to see him again. Maybe suggest the idea of a time and place and leave it up to him. No games no games !:)
That's awesome! Fingers crossed for you.
