I have sparse, short lashes, so I really need a miracle drug. Any reviews? What are the side effects? How effective is it?
Re: Anyone on Latisse?
I'm using LiLash and have had freakishly amazing results. I walk around asking people to look at how long my crazy eyelashes are. I didn't notice any results for like the first 5 weeks but I kept at it and I have gained some major length. I have not noticed a real increase in thickness, but they do seem to fall out less.
No side effects for me and I've been using it since January. I got mine at my salon, but you can probably order it online. No prescription needed.
Here is a recent picture of me. Just regular mascara.
We're kind of going out.
Latisse really is a miracle drug. Honestly, it is the only product I would put near my eye since it is the only one FDA approved for growing lashes. I've read about LiLash and Revitalash, and it sounds like all of these products are effective, but only Latisse has been extensively studied to obtain FDA approval.
I have a bottle of Latisse, but I've been inconsistent with using it. I did start to notice some results after a few weeks, but then just stopped using it. I already have pretty nice lashes, so I just didn't have much motivation to use it daily. I have friends who use it and have insane lashes (which is why I bought a bottle).
Yes, there can be side effects. There can be permanent darkening of your eyelid. Very rarely, the actual color of your eye can darken to brown (I think this is only with green eyes - but I'm not sure). Some people have some skin irritation and are unable to use Latisse.
Melinda - your lashes are killer!!
Go Dawgs and Rugger - how much does your Latisse Rx cost?
About the eyecolor darkening- if you read the research, you'll see that this happened only to people who used this drug as eyedrops to treat an eye condition- NOT to anyone who used Latisse as directed for lash growth. Law requires it to be listed as a possible side effect, because it is associated with this chemical. The only reason Latisse exists is because people who were using the eyedrops also experienced the side effect of extreme eyelash growth, so the drug company took steps with FDA to start marketing it for that purpose.
I used it and loved it! No side effects for me and my lashes have stayed long. I use maybelline wwaterproof falsies mascara and that plus the lattise gets lots of compliments. I have another bottle but haven't used it yet because it's lasted over a year.
Yeah, I've read that the eye color darkening only happened with people who put drops directly into their eye to treat glaucoma. However, I also read the opposite and that it has happened (very rarely) from use on the lash line, so I didn't know what to believe. And, for the record, my information is coming from Dr. Google, so it's not like I'm using very reliable sources here
I think I paid around $120 from the Med Spa where I get microdermabrasion. I often see Groupons for it, though, so you might want to look out for it there.

Yikes! How long does a bottle last?
I've been using it off and on since December. I noticed insane results within the first month. Let up on the regimen and now they're back to being short. I need to start using it again but I"m trying to figure out what to use to apply it since I have run out of the single use, disposable brushes that come in the kit. Any of you ladies that use Latisse have any suggestions?
It cost $100 but it's totally worth it to me.
Even the slight possibility of this happening is enough to make me never want to try it. My eyes are a blue-green/aqua color and I would be so sad if they turned brown. (Not that brown eyes aren't lovely! I am just somewhat attached to my own color.)
Are you using one brush for each eye? I use one brush for both eyes as long as I have no redness, itching or anything else that would indicate an eye infection. I even heard of someone using a liquid eyeliner brush to apply it because they didn't like the disposables.
One brush for both eyes, once a night. I did go to MAC and they suggested an eyeliner brush they had.
Mine was $100 and it lasted 9-10 months, so totally worth it IMO. Far cheaper than lash extensions and much more durable than false lashes. I used the brushes that came with it. In fact, I'd use the same brush for days, even though they give you enough brushes to use a new brush for every application.
And you're not supposed to use it on your lower lashes. It says not to on the package.
Wow, you got it to last that long, and were applying enough for it to be effective? One reason I haven't been very consistent with it is because I thought I'd be spending $100 every month on a bottle, and just didn't know if it was worth it just for long lashes. The ladies at the Med Spa said I could get one bottle to last two months if I used the same brush for both eyes and only one drop of product rather than two. But one bottle for 9 months is awesome. Maybe I'll dig it out of my makeup bag and start using it again. I have pretty nice, long lashes already, so I have a feeling that the results would be pretty crazy for me.
I have been on it for about 18 months now - have backed off to every other day use at this point - loving it - get it online from physicians for about $87, which I only pay every other month now. latisse.bz
