garage sale

The city wide garage sale was last weekend and since I am trying to move as little as possible, I held one.  And did really well.  Made almost $300 and got rid of all but one box of stuff to take to Goodwill!

At one point I looked around and kind of laughed  Right after my divorce, I put the house on the market and was planning on getting a tiny apartment.  At that point, I was going to rent a storage unit because I couldn't stand the thought of getting rid of all my stuff.  The sell of the house fell through last minute and I kept the hosue and everything. But, now, two years later, I'm like get rid of it all!  It's amazing how life can change so much in two years.

  • Wow!  I am glad it worked out for you and it is good to hear that you are feeling good about this.  As much as I am wanting to move on, I am still struggling to part with some stuff that my ex and I had shared together.

I REALLY want to buy a pair of Ray Bans...but since I'm moving to another state and obviously taking nothing with me, I am going to use it to buy new stuff once I get to Texas.

I can't remember, how long have you been divorced? I would say even six months ago, there were things I would have had a hard time getting rid of.

Not long at all!  Separated on July 4th of last year and recently divorced on April 24th.  I am trying to make my new place my own and balled my eyes out at Peir1 Import as I learned I was not ready to stay goodbye to the old stuff.

  • That's awesome!!

I just had a garage sale last weekend and made some serious cash. It was such a good feeling purging my belongings/home decor of anything I had with XH.
