Upper lip hair

How do you get rid of yours?  I recently noticed some little dark hairs and tried Sally's hair removal with not much success.  I left it on for a while and wiped it off and still had them (and a red, irritated upper lip).

Any recs?

  • Waxed by a pro

  • Waxed by a pro.

But I recently tried Oil of Olay's new hair remover & it worked perfectly. No bumps, no red rashes, just smooth hair free!

  • The Sally cream thankfully works for me. I've also had it threaded, which works but made me breakout.
  • Professionally waxed!  But I would love to find an alternative!

  • I've personally had good luck with the Sally Hansen brow/face wax strips.

Sometimes I get it done at the salon.

I'm having electrolysis done on my chin but my upper lip is just way too sensitive.

  • I am halfway through laser hair treatments for my chin. I use Sally Hansen cream remover for  my upper lip.

  • If you get waxed, does it grow back darker?

    This is my fear.

I've recently been tempted by the Vaniqa commercials.

I have a mustache over half of my upper lip only.  Usually it's not noticeable but every so often it looks dark and I freak out that I am a monkey-child.

  • Electrolysis.  Gone for good.
  • threading is my fave method. the Sally Hansen cream remover works for me in a pinch and is pretty cheap.

  • I just use Nair. There's a new spa face cream version that works well.

I used to wax but I stopped that several years back because I feel like it brings out my fine lines. So I get my eyebrows tweezed instead of waxed as well.

Ditto.   And I tweeze any strays.  My kid is fabulous and adorable, but the little SOB gave me a momstache!!

I tried these for the first time a few weeks ago, and they seem to work well.

I have fine blonde hair on my upper lip, and somehow got it in my head that I needed to get rid of it. I had never waxed before, so this was my first attempt. The strips seemed innocent enough, so I gave it a go. Holy hell, thatshithurts!!!!! It was a serious Macauley Culkin moment. I am assuming you get used to it, but I have a new respect for all of you waxers.

  • Wax strips from ulta.

Ditto this. It's also pretty cheap considering how many uses you can get out of the product.
