How's The Limited's quality these days?
I live about 80 minutes from a mall (the near side of the big city). I live about 110 minutes from a mall with a Limited (far side). I just got an email that tomorrow from 5pm to close everything's 50% off. I'm going shopping tomorrow anyways, so I figured if there was ever a time to go that extra 30 minutes, it'd be on the 50% off day, but I'm not going if the quality's poor.
I used to work there in the late '90s and I probably haven't been in one since 2004. It looks like they have some cute things for work. Where are they on the quality scale: Loft? AT/BR? Lower than Loft? Thanks.
Re: How's The Limited's quality these days?
In my opinion, be prepared to do a lot of trying on. I bought a skirt (online exclusive) from there back in March and ordered an XS and it ran HUGE. I paid more in alterations then the cost of the skirt. The quality is fabulous though. Maybe like Loft?
I really love the limited. I've purchased several dresses from there and the quality is great. I did have some problems with small holes in my merino sweaters from there but every pant, skirt and dress I have bought have held up great.
I also find that for me, their sizing is consistent and I have no problems with ordering online.
I wouldn't call Loft "fabulous" in terms of quality...hm. Anybody else want to weight in and help me out?

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I've had really good luck with my Limited purchases. I always buy things on sale there and the quality has been fine. I can't remember the last time I even had a button come loose.
I usually buy dresses, skirts & blouses from there. The pants don't fit me well and I don't have to wear suits to work, so I can't speak to suits or pants.
I think their quality is really good. It's kind of been my go to store lately and since they have sales all.the.time you can't go wrong.
Yeah, I wouldn't say Loft is "fabulous" in an terms of quality. Almost everything I've gotten from there barely lasts one season..it's a good thing their sales are so good so it's cheap.
Sorry OP, I haven't been to Limited in years either and can't attest to their quality.
I am another vote against the loft for quality! I never shop there anymore. I'd just as soon wait for the 40% off sale at the regular AT and buy something that lasts.
I haven't purchased limited for several years, but just recently walked through and brought an outfit for my sister that was super-cute. Their sale that day was ok (BOGO, not 50% off everything!), but everything looked well made. I will start shopping there again after that experience.
Loft isn't fabulous. Lately, after 1 or 2 washings, their sweaters look terrible. I like Limited for their tops. Quality seems okay for the price (I try and buy stuff on sale though). I can't do their bottoms. My regular size is too big, if I size down, it's a little too small.
I bought a top there a couple of months ago and haven't been displeased with the quality. I've only worn it a handful of times, but the fit/finish haven't suffered due to laundering so far. I can't say the same about items I've bought from a few other stores recently...
Limited used to be one of my favorite stores - I could walk in, know exactly what size to get, never had to try anything on, and most of my work pants came from there and BR. Then I moved in 2006 and there's no Limited in this mall, so unless I drive into Houston I don't get to shop there.
