Haven't had anything to AW in a while, but PIP

There are a slew of babies being born amongst my friends in the May/June/December time frame.  Methinks I need to spend more quality time with Ravelry and start picking out patterns.

Here's an afghan to get started.  I always wonder how useful booties really are.  Maybe I'll do some hats though.  Afghans just seem the most useful for some reason so I keep doing them.

  • That's beautiful

Booties are tough because sometimes they don't stay on, and they can grow out of them SO quickly. You're right, afghans will be used. DD is using one that someone made for me.

Can't wait to see what else you have going on.

  • Very nice!

For hats: I really like this hat.  I've made a few, and apparently it's the only one my nephew will wear:

I like that.  Link please?  :-)

Added it to the original post.  Thanks for the reminder; it's been so long I've forgotten I should include that, LOL.

    And thanks, everyone!

Dr.L, that's what I figured about booties--cute as they are I suspect they don't stay on that well and probably don't fit for long.  I'm just too practical to spend time on them I think (though those Converse ones someone posted not too long ago were pretty awesome).

That was me!  They are really cool, but I'm still not sure quite how practical they are.  Booties, in general aren't all that practical like you said.

I thought so :)  They would be cute even displayed on a shelf.

  • IDK, we used booties a lot.  My G'ma made some for me when I was little and LA wore them as well.  They stayed on really well--better than most socks!

  • I love that! Blankets are definitely my go-to gift (I make quilts instead of knitting an afghan though), since those can be used for a long time!
  • Ooo!  I love it!
