Re: What do you do for your MIL for Mother's Day
We moved out of state about 2 years ago, we would normally do dinner or something and get her a gift card for a pedicure or something.
Now we just sent a card with some type of gift card and call/FaceTime with them
We normally just send a card b/c that's what H did in the past, but I've always gotten my mom a gift. I've been feeling icky about giving my own mom a present (for bday as well) and not his so I'm trying to move him into the present route. Problem is I don't know his mom well enough to know her real likes/dislikes and H is like clueless so it's usually just something random like new dishtowels with some fun spatulas or something. If I'm being completely honest here the real reason I've started with the presents is that I don't want her to find out we get my mom something and her nothing. That would NOT be good and I'm definitely not stopping on my mom's presents. No way!
This year I got her one of the LL Bean totes with "Nana" embroidered on it (that's what the grandkids call her) that we'll take with us when we go up (or H will take...I'm still undecided). We got his dad a toiletry bag with "Pa" so that will be his Father's Day gift. Sort of combo new baby stuff/Mother's/Father's day stuff.
