Second Interview

Hi I just had my second interview. I met with the rest of the staff and told them a little about myself. It was not exactly a question and answer interview just meeting with others in the department. Do I send a thank you note to everyone or just one to the hiring manager?

Re: Second Interview

  • Hiring manager is enough, but do include a sentence thanking him/her for introducing you to the staff and giving you an oppurtunity to answer the team's questions, etc, it's nice to include their names if the list is not too long.
  • You can get away with sending to just the hiring manager, especially if you don't remember the other staff members names.  However I landed my current position by sending thank yous to everyone I met with.  It was a special circumstance though because I interviewed with the CEO but also spoke with the two hiring managers breifly.

  • If you got their emails or cards, you could send a quick thank you email to everyone.  Otherwise I agree with others that sending to just the hiring manager is enough.

    Good luck!!

  • Congrats on getting through your second interview!  By all means, send a thank you to the hiring manager, and as a personal touch mention the others that you met with in the note.  For example:  "John (or Mr. Doe), thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me.  Also, please pass on my thanks to Mary and Joe for their time as well"
