Re: What's Cooking?
I haven't menu planned for the week since we were away for the weekend. My body is desperately craving fresh food. I think I need to go food shopping tomorrow.
M - chicken w/ quinoa and veggies in the crock pot. This is my first attempt at quinoa so I'm hoping I like it!
Tu - if I go food shopping, it'll be something quick like cereal, a sandwich or a lean cuisine
W - DH has softball so I'd like to do something in the crockpot again. Maybe salsa chicken.
Th - some sort of leftovers
F - it's MILs bday so I'm not sure if we'll be going out or not.
I love these threads for inspiration
M - chicken soup that we froze a while ago
T - chicken thighs, pasta, spinach and sauce
W - probably a burger
Thursday we'll be in NOLA for the weekend, so I will be eating crabs and crawfish every chance I get.
Jess - I never had quinoa either - let me know how it turns out
This weekend was so busy with parties that I didnt get a chance to grocery shop - so looks like its a clean out the freezer/fridge kind of week.
Monday - tacos
Tuesday - sausage & pasta
Wednesday - dentist appt after work so prob something like cereal, etc.
Thursday - steamed shrimp
Friday - ??
We did spaghetti bolognase last night with spinach, mushrooms, & carrots in it. We also have these meals...not sure what day we'll eat which though:
- burgers on the grill with caprese salad
- WW pasta with lemon, garlic, basil and grilled chicken on top
- WW pasta with zucchini and yellow squash
- home made pesto pizza
We will be cleaning out the fridge/freezer this week too. We will probably have a mess of disjointed meals because this week is so crazy for both of us. We also desperately need to buy a new grill.
honey-balsamic glazed salmon with asparagus, starch TBD
kielbasa with some kind of frozen veggie blend from TJs, starch TBD
WW pasta with a faux chicken cacciatore of some sort.
I'm pretty crappy on the meal planning end of things for this week myself...we'll see how it all ends up...but so far, I've got:
Tonight: thinking grilled cheese and soup or salad (using up things before they go bad or have to be frozen)
Tomorrow: Lemon chicken with pasta
Wednesday: DH is going to dinner with his dad for his birthday, so I'll probably just make a sandwich or cereal or whatever when I get home from work.
Thursday: maybe meatballs and pasta?
Friday: not sure...might try to make dinner plans with a former co-worker since I have the night off, but we've been playing phone tag for a week so we'll see...
Saturday: I think I'm going to end up eating at my parents'.
this is a crap of a week, I had done great the past month though...
Sun- birthday parties
Mon- grilled BBQ chicken, peas, and roasted potatoes
Tues- It's just me and Anna tonight, all the boys will be out and about so either a protein shake or leftovers
Wed- baseball night so a salad for us and probably hot dogs, grilled cheese, or something relatively easy for the littles
Thurs- Sun- shorebound!
