Let's get this party started!

Now that the boards are back to how they were, hopefully we can start posing like we used to.

So... what's going on everyone? Any AW's? Confessions? Thoughts? Comments? Baby announcements? Updates?

I'm not pregnant confirmed on Friday. I'm OK, but I don't know what's going to happen now. Just waiting. Kid is probably going to have to get tubes which is scaring the hell out of me, not the tubes part, but putting my baby through anesthesia makes me a little sick to my stomach to think about. But heading to NOLA this weekend to hang out with friends and eat our way through southern LA.

  • Is it the weekend yet?

  • We have literally zero going on.  Baby is getting cuter and more awesome by the day.  We had a much needed weekend away this past weekend.  I drank too much and ate like crap.  It was glorious.  I have a weird sunburn on my shins, not as bad as someone's sunburn, but weird.

I feel like a zombie and would like to echo Lachute's sentiment re the weekend.

I'm sorry --- I hope things work out ok.

RE: tubes...Oliver had them put in last year, and he's probably going to get new ones put in again b/c fluid is affecting his hearing. It's a really easy procedure --- I think he was under for less than 10 minutes. I know it's still scary (i'm pretty scared this time around too), but it'll probably really help your LO in the end.

    Watch it, 0602!

Re: Tubes, DS had them twice and both times the dr said that it's such a quick procedure that they barely knock the kids out completely.  DS was in so much pain with the infections and it got to the point where it was causing hearing problems. I know it's a scary thought but it's so much better to just do it. Everything will be OK. :)

Sorry to hear you aren't pregnant. I hope everything eventually works out for both you and the couple. I've been talking to DH about this for the past few months. I'd love to do this for our very good friends who have been desperately trying for years and years.

I only have 1 thing to AW. Danica is going to be 1 on Thursday! This past year FLEW by. Seriously. I don't know how she is going to be 1 already.

  • Jack is five months and already has two teeth.  His first came in at 20 weeks and the second this weekend. Craziness.  He's such a good boy and I keep telling myself I am so lucky to have such an easy baby but I'm sure my next will be a beast!

Nothing else going on.  Looking forward to our September trip to Italy.

  • I just realized from seeing my ticker that I only have 101 days until this kid is born.  This excites me and scares me at the same time.  We have done nothing to prepare other than register  and sign up for childbirth and breast-feeding classes.

Not much new stuff going on with us. I'm very happy that our summer csa has begun and we are eating better. Had a race on Saturday night, which was a ton of fun (minus my twisted ankle). We've been slowly but surely getting projects done around our house. I planted/landscaped some of the front of the house so the place now has curb appeal and does not look like a barren wasteland. Oh, and I'm super excited that the garden in the back yard has an abundance of peonies that are blooming!
  • Nothing much going on here either.  We too have been completing little projects around the house, like putting in a new lawn (which still needs some work) and finally purchasing a grown up bedroom set.  We are planning on taking a mini vacation next weekend to OCMD.  I could not get much time off from work and since DH could only take off the 1st week of June, we are just doing something small right now.  It will be our first real getway since our honeymoon almost 3 years ago.

This is our first time trying the CSA and I love it so far.  It's fun to try out the new veggies and figure out ways to prepare them.  So far new things we've tried are french breakfast radishes, bok choy, Hakurei turnips, vitamin greens and mustard greens.

Also, I am jealous of your peonies - they are my favorite!

  • Hey ladies!  Nothing super exciting to report over on my end...just trying to figure out what needs to be done before Baby Dos gets here, and throwing some ideas around for Aisling's birthday party in August.  Work is kicking into busy season, so my hours will increase soon...which is why I am so intent on getting stuff done sooner rather than later (though DH is of the mindset that "it will all get done!" despite the fact that he's away more than he's home and has yet to sit and plan a timeline with me..grr).  Hope all is well with everyone!

  • Hello! Not too much here. We are getting ready for our visit to PA - so exciting! Also, excited for Dan's tournament in Cooperstown. It's hotttt here in FL. Love it. Logan is getting very whiny all the time now which isn't fun and double whammy because he's still not talking so it's just frustrating all around. And he eats nothing!! He always wants snacks which I curb to get him to eat real food. He is so incredibly picky so I'm counting the days till that passes. Can't believe he will be 2 in August though! Have not even attempting to think about his b'day yet. yikes. Dan turns 13 on Memorial day though so holy crap, I'm getting old.

It's okay, we're at 70some days and have done just as little.   Attempting to paint the nursery this weekend.   Shower next weekend.  I figure the shower will put my ass into gear!
