What's the catch?

Rusty turns 30 this year (October) and I want to take him on a trip.  I had decided on Vegas.  I thought we could talk some of our friends into going with us.  There is a deal on Tippr right now and I can't decide if it is too good to be true or not.  What do you think?  Here is the deal.

On part of me says that $99 isn't that big of deal and that if it isn't legit not much harm is done, but the other more rational part of me says to stay away.  Tippr has an A- BBB rating and Next Stage Travel has a C rating.

Re: What's the catch?

  • I saw that too and thought the Orlando option would be great for our anniversary this year. But I'm like you and I keep thinking there's a catch.

I've looked at it a couple times, and the only thing I can find that would be that potential catch it is says there are "up to $150" in fees per person. I also noticed that it covers airline fees up to $500 round trip and anything more than that is your responsibility.

    I'm torn.

  • I saw that the give you $350 for hotel and $500 for airfare.  Even if airfare was more than $500, it would still be cheaper thatn 2 full price tickets.

Those fees they were talking about, from what I understand, are like baggage fees if you have checked luggage and taxes.

    Almost 1500 have been purchased.

  • I'd be nervous that all the fees would add up to more than you would have paid through something like Expedia. I don't know if there's really a "catch" though. (Although, I'd check to make sure it's not a time share company that's going to make you sit through a sales pitch.)
  • Keep in mind Vegas hotel rates and when you want to go. If they give you a voucher for a hotel, it could be more expensive than you thought. Vegas can be pricey on the weekend but you can stay at a super nice hotel during the week for under $100/night... even down to $50/night depending on the hotel. I just booked my Vegas rooms through Vegas.com (Costco also has a $80 for $100 gift card for vegas.com) though I dont need a flight. If it is legit... it's a good deal just for airfare alone...
  • Did you decide to got for it?

  • No.  Their website has a chat option so I did that and I didn't like the hotels that they usually have the deal through.

  • Good to know. I might try the chat option tonight. I didn't realize they had that.
