Our loan officer is the biggest pain in the butt!

Sorry for typo-- I'm on my phone.

::tearing hair out::

There's a backstory that I don't want to type out again, but it's in my pp. short story-- our loan officer lied to us telling us that a piece of paper work would work for the underwriters, but it turned out that there was no possible way it could work. Anyway, it went downhill from there.

So, because he lied, it pushed our closing date back a month. When I found this out, I informed him that our locked rate was expiring on May 21st, and what could we do to keep the rate. I had to ask 5 times before he finally answered with,"we won't know anything until we get closer to that date."

So., today, I had to call him. Let me say that again, I had to contact HIM instead of him contacting me... I email him and tell him that today is the day it expired, and why hasnt he said anything yet. No response. It had only been about six hours since I wrote him, but I have a feeling he's avoiding me.

We have had the worst experience with him. We like our other contact there, but she's not a loan officer, so I can't really get her to help us. So now I don't know what happens. I'm just frustrated.

Re: Our loan officer is the biggest pain in the butt!

  • Ugh. That's horrible. Does this dumb-dumb have a manager you could speak with or ask to have your loan file moved to another loan officer? What company are you with, just curious?
  • you are not alone.  the first loan officer we met with (who knew we were not married) pushed us towards a VA loan.  guess what - apparently we don't qualify because we aren't married.  Seriously?  That's not something in the fine print, that something pretty obvious

    The current one that we are dealing with (same bank) told me she spoke with the underwriters and I do not need to be back from maternity leave prior to closing, just a letter from my job will do.  I only discuss things like this with her in email so I have proof of what I was told.  Not that it will help anything, but when it all falls to pieces and we get screwed over I have something to show their manager.

    GL.

  • We're with Quicken-- their process is great, but this guy is AWFUL. I emailed someone else there today and asked for his manager's number.

    I have all of these emails as proof of what he told me-- it means nothing apparently. Ugh.
